  • Slowed down weightloss...

For my induction I lost loads of lbs. For the 2 weeks i hav ebeen on OWL, i have still lost, but 2lb here, 1.5lb there. Not that im not happy, just that it was not what i was used to! But now I understand the science of it all, i can see that a stall or slow down at this stage is probably due to my body holding onto its water reserves- the inches are telling me a much better story. Also my body shape is really changing. And from what i have read, the weigh loss will restart when my body gets used to this woe.
Another point I wanted to make is thank goodness for oopsie rolls! They have really helped fill that trouble spot- lunch on the run. and im gonna make those micro muffins as well. I would say to anyone doing this plan, experiement with your recipes!

I don't know in what context you read that, but your weight loss rate will likely never be as high as it was during Induction. That's not necessarily because you lose slower in OWL, but because you have less weight to lose now and also because you no longer have water weight to lose, so you are losing mostly fat.

Dr. Atkins wrote that the loss of inches is a better indicator of fat loss than the loss of pounds.

The scale does not tell you that you have "lost" fat or the you have retained water. In fact, if you lose a pound of fat but retain a pound of water, that scale will show 0 pounds lost, leading you to believe that you have "lost" no fat and the diet isn't working.

So do as Dr. ATkins suggested and start following your measurements and the scale weight. This is especially important on Atkins because Dr. Atkins defines a weight loss plateau as 4 weeks without the loss of pounds OR inches.
