  • Moving to Rung 3

Ok, I am sorry I have been away from the boards for a week or so. I have been really busy with the start of the football season sneaking up on us. I am still doing well with the way I am eating. I am going to start a running regiment on Monday to see if that will speed up my weight loss. I am still happy with the progress I am making in changing my body. I have gone from a 42 inch waist on my pants to now having the 38 in waist shorts I just bought falling off of me.

I am ready to introduce some almonds and pistachios! Bring on Rung 3.

    Re: Moving to Rung 3

Nice job coach! And 243 would make me a happy boy (although I would immediately be looking forward to the 230s).

I started my exercise this past week mixing running with trail riding. For running, I'm following the C25K approach which, sadly, I've completed twice before and quit after completing it both times. I once thought jogging was boring, but I've found that jogging along a forest trail is actually quite enjoyable and really helps rid me of any stress I've picked up that day! Hope it works for you as well.

Be careful with those nuts. I think I may have squirrel blood in me as it is virtually impossible to eat a single serving (1 oz in most cases) of nuts without going back for one (make that three) more handful(s). I L-O-V-E nuts, but I think they became a downfall for me. Here's hoping you don't have a similar experience.

Check in again when you have a chance. I know all about life getting in the way, but I like to hear from a "local" guy having success. Keeps me motivated.

Believe me, I am looking forward to the 230's, but my body is wierd. I will lose1, next day gain 1/2. Next day gain 1, next day lose 1/2. So I only count the weights over the week instead of daily. I need one of those scales that measures body fat as well as weight. That would be nice to know where I am on that loss! I am about 13 lbs from adding some before and during pics!

        Re: Moving to Rung 3

I quit checking the scale daily several "tries" ago as the ups and downs were too disheartening to see. I check every Monday morning and other than that the scale may as well not exist. Technically, I could probably skip the scale altogether since the plan is to stay on this WOE for the long haul in which case the weight is bound to fall off at some point before "the end". LOL! To be honest, the way my clothes fit, or how I look in public is much more important to me than a number on a scale, but then the number seems to be what other people are most concerned with, and so Mondays it is.

LOL! I checked my weight after my earlier post. Despite what I said, it DOES feel good to see the number dip below 250!

              >>speed up my weight loss.>>

That's not really in your power. Your body will lose at the rate it will lose.

              >>I will lose1, next day gain 1/2.>>

That's not weird, it's normal. It's true for most of us.

              >>I need one of those scales that measures body fat as well as weight.>>

The ones you get for home are quite unreliable.

congrats on your continued loss. Be czreful with pistachios as they are higher carb then other nuts.

enjoy your running programs and be sure to measure so you can see the inches of body fat being shed when the scales doesn't validate your hard work.
