  • opinions on wasa crackers?

What are your opinions about fibre wasa crackers. I bought a pack and the label says each craker has 5g carbs and 2.5g fibre which would make each one 2.5g carbs right?
I was thinking they would be a good lunch or breakfast idea?
Also does anyone make their own peanut butter? If so...how?

Fiber already deducted from the carb count I am guessing. Which would make it 5 carbs. I have one of those once in awhile. Grew up with them and love them. But they are RUNG 9. Looks like your profile says rung 3 so you may have to wait a bit

I buy smuckers all natural peanut butter. Only ingredients are peanuts with 2% or less salt. No other add ins. Very good.

Dr Atkins talks about them in DANDR as his saving food so when you get to the rung they are on enjoy them if they agree with you.

Peanut butter (and other nut butters) are easypeasy if you have a food processor.
I just put salted peanuts and groundnut oil plus a little liquid sucralose (my hubby has a sweet tooth) in the processor and zap it till it is the texture he likes. You can stop it at 'chunky' if you like or make it really smooth.

I like to use unroasted unshelled almonds to make almond butter myself as I hate peanut butter

You could probably use a stick blender instead - better for smaller amounts.

              Re: opinions on wasa crackers?

When I eat them, I rarely eat them as a cracker. I tend to grind them up and use them in recipes as you would breadcrumbs or cracker crumbs.

I'd make megs' microwaved flax cracker instead! It's lower in carbs and I'd argue more satisfying. I used to love the WASA but I don't get along well with glutens anymore.

Pre-Atkins I used to like WASA with some pate or goat cheese on it. I'm nowhere near the grain rung yet so Meg's flax crackers do it for me also.

Here's the link for Meg's Flax Wafers for anyone interested in trying them.
