  • Stalled, almost

I've only gone down a pound in two weeks! This is discouraging.

I "officially" started OWL 1 two weeks ago but honestly I haven't increased the vegs by very much at all. And I haven't even been "cheating" with a little alcohol here and there, which I did do on induction. (bad, bad I know. ) Really I've been quite "good", I think.

The lack of progress has tempted to quit and go out eat a big ole Starbucks scone; the only thing stopping me is the fact that I feel physically better (more energy and I sleep less) on a low carb regimen and I don't want to mess that up.

Just venting. Hopefully things will pick back up.

Why not? The first rung of OWL is an extra 5 net carbs of Induction vegetables.

With so little left to lose, your rate of loss will be slower.

    That's progress.

Stop letting the scale define "progress".

with 11 pounds to go each pound shed is going to be 9.1% of your neded to lose weight. for a superheavyweight like I was that would be over 13 pounds.

      you are doing great.

I know how you feel, since starting on OWL i have lost a couple of pounds only.
Mine could have been because I did have a few glasses of wine and that may have messed up my week. Other than that I havebeen pretty good too. Am now just gonna expect a 1 lb loss each week and if more then great. Think I expected about a 4lb loss everyweek which is just silly!!
Keep it up x we can do this. And no Starbuck scone will be worth all your previous hard work x

Well, it doesn't take much to add that extra 5 g. carb. (For example 1 cup broccoli = 3.5 g. net carbs).

I was down half a pound this morning, which felt nice.

And yesterday I went thru a pile of too-small pants and found two pairs I could fit back into. That was also encouraging. When I get where I want to be I will triple my wardrobe!

Inches mean more than pounds. I have been doing strength training and building a lot of muscle which has slowed my weight loss, but I am SWIMMING in my clothing. At least I have a few t-shirts that fit right. I was stuck at 190lb for three or four weeks before I dropped four pounds in a week. (186 now). That was last week, and I haven't lost any more weight, but I have lost some fractional inches on my waist, and gained some fractional inches on my biceps, chest, and shoulders.

The scale lies. It is "tricksy and false". The tape measure is my precious.

Dr. Atkins wrote that the loss of inches is a BETTER indicator of fat loss than the loss of pounds. So keep track of those measurements!

No one will know how much you weigh unless you walk around carrying a sign that says "Hello, today I weigh _______ pounds". But they and you will notice that your clothes are fitting better and that you look smaller.
