Something I learned a long time ago, low carb "junk food" is still junk food.

    What's "once in a while"?

Did you check the list of ingredients? Are they all on this list of foods acceptable for induction?

Be aware that those products are full of sugar alcohols - some people get the runs from them (sugar alcohols) and some people digest them (so should count them as carbs)...just a heads up.

I would be super wary of CarbSmart ice cream. Everyone is different but for me that stuff was like crack. I had a terrible time the winter of 08/09 because I couldn't seem to keep away from it. Seriously be careful and if you find that you are having a hard time resisting it, or resisting other things after you eat it, then get rid of it fast.

I always have some of these bars in the freezer. They have definitely kept me from more than one regular ice cream binge. There is also a chocolate and nut covered version of the bar at 5 net carbs and a rocky road version of the carton ice cream. Good stuff but moderation is certainly key.

Unless you really feel like you've got your cravings licked and your willpower in place, I wouldn't. Carbsmart is too easy to overindulge in I know. Breyers had a low carb one for a while too (at least in my area). I did better with the make your own ice cream recipes using heavy cream and the bag of ice trick.

I wouldn't give this to children. The sugar alcohols could really mess up their digestive tracts.

You should avoid this ice cream and make you're own. The sugar alcohol is really horrible for the digestive tract.

This is probably the best advice. There is no diet where you should be eating pizza and ice cream, including this one.

For me, once in a while, is twice a week. I usually make a desert on the weekends (simple jello cheesecake or similar) and have one big piece on sat and sun and then THE END.

For the price and taste, I would also prefer to make my own treats.

I was thinking the same thing. Try it if you want but please keep it away from the kids. Do you really want to chance them having a bad tummy reaction from it (which isn't uncommon).
