  • What I have learned from Doing Atkins

    1. I am addicted to food, not just carbs, but food in general.
    2. If you weigh yourself everyday, you will be discouraged.
    3. Atkinsgal08 will reply to almost anythread you post. It's not always nice, but it's almost always right. She knows her stuff.
    4. If you do Atkins by BY THE BOOK, you will lose weight and be heakthy.
    5. People are ignorant about weight loss and health. I have had people tell me that it is unhealthy to lose weight so fast. that. I respond with it's more unhealthy to have a BMI close to 40, blood pressure so high I have to take pills, and to be so fat I get winded walking up stairs.
    6. And finally, it's really hard to get rep points.
    Age-36 years old

      I second the good list.

I was (am) a complusive weigher. It stressed me out. Last Friday I decided only weigh in on Fridays-- no scale hopping.

I managed to do it...a few times I needed to distract myself, but it really made a difference. I felt like I wasn't as mcuh a slave to the scale.

Re: What I have learned from Doing Atkins

I actually like to weigh daily. If my weight goes down or stays the same, I feel like I'm doing something right and I'm motivated to keep doing it. If it goes up (even if I KNOW it's just TOM or normal weight fluctuation) it makes me mad and motivates me to exercise more or make sure I'm doing things properly. lol Maybe I'm just backwards.. wouldn't be the first time I've thought that!
