  • Butter measurement

Alot of the recipes on the Atkins site ask for one stick of butter. Does anybody know what this converts to ?

    Thanks

1 stick of butter = 8 ounces, which is roughly equivalent to 225 grams. Butter is one of the few foods whose volumetric measure is equal to its weight.

Hi, a stick of butter is actually 1/2 cup or 4 ounces. I am looking at a stick of butter from my fridge.

The world would be a much simpler place if the USA went Metric and the Brits would stop messing about with Imperial units while claiming to have gone metric.
Atkins didn't say 'Calories don't count',
            he said, 'Don't count calories.'
