  • not strict.... cheat... but body is still shrinking??

hi i'm still doing rung 1 of OWL
(cant remember if this is the 2nd or 3rd week of rung1)

i have half cup(sometimes 1) of sweetened milk tea every 2 days. & because of this, i go above 25-40 g of carbs some days. i shouldnt take milk or illegal sugar, i know.... but i still lose weight & shrink. huh

    i dont understand.....
i thought if u cheat, even a little, u wont be in the fat burning state? can someone shed some light

It would depend on what your CCLL is, which you will discover during OWL. As long as you are not eating above your critical carb limit for losing you can keep losing weight and/or inches
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Why not move to OWL Rung 2 and have milk without cheating?

I suppose you are sweetening your tea with artificial sweetener, not sugar...

Re: not strict.... cheat... but body is still shrinking??

You might have a CCLL higher than 25. My CCLL was 50. But if I ate Sargento brand ricotta cheese and ate below that 50, I would stall. However, I could eat a slice of pizza (the real kind) and still lose weight at my CCLL.

So it comes down to 2 factors: your CCLL and your food intolerances. This is why OWL is so important. Not only do you learn that your body can eat more than 20 net carbs daily and still lose weight, but you also learn how your body reacts to foods. This is the information you use during Pre-Maintenance and Maintenance Phases----that's why you may see Maintainers eating things on their menues that are definitely not Induction friendly or even OWL friendly: because their bodies can handle those carbs and those foods.

Good for you for starting to notice how eating different foods affects you, so you can plan your menus accordingly

I worry that what you are doing is eating sugar, sweet milk and bread on the expense of more nutritional stuff that would be good and healthy for your body. I think it is important to have a foundation of veggies built up so that you can be healthy and sustain weightlloss.
If you worry about artificial sweeteners have you looked into stevia - it is a very natural sweetener.
                  Just my two cents

                      thanks for ur concern

i dont eat bread. the small portion of bread pudding i had a few days back was the only time i had since i started this diet. a simple pudding made of a piece of bread. it wasnt a planned cheat, it just happened while i was with my client, as i didnt wanna offend her. not planning of doing it again though... i didnt like the after effect, the sluggishness.

i do eat 3 servings of vege each day..
as for stevia, i used it whenever i had pumpkin (half cup each each time).... but i noticed that eating pumpkin slows down my progress. and so i have stopped taking them(pumpkin and stevia)

i dont like having my tea with fresh milk+sugar..so i cant use stevia for this. my choice has always been the condensed milk. since it doesnt affect my weight loss, i still take it... but the portion is very little. about half cup a day... sometimes more

                        According to the USDA database

1/2 cup of sweetened, canned, condensed milk has 83 carbs !!
If you are still losing weight drinking all those carbs you must have a very high CCLL!!

whoo00ps sorry i meant i have half cup of Tea each time
and for each half cup of tea, the amount of condensed milk i use contains 12g of carbs. most times i have 1 cup of tea daily.....so thats 24g carbs from milk alone
