  • I'm not totally clear

I'm sure I've seen a similar question but maybe the answer wasn't totally clear. Sorry if this is redundant.

I understand the DANDR has a type and 2Big clarified that. But here is where I'm getting confused :confused

During induction, I found it hard to get my carbs up to 20. I was always well below that. When we start the veggie rung, we are to add 5 net carbs of veggies, correct? OR are we to add enough to reach 25 carbs? That's my biggie question.

From there, we keep adding 5 net carbs per rung? I guess the veggie rung is the most confusing for me.

Thanks in advance for your help. I did read DANDR and even with the typo, I'm still not clear.

I was rarely at 20 net carbs per day too. The important thing about OWL is to be able to eventually figure out your CCL. I use fitday, so what I did was take an average of my carb intake for the last month (I was on induction for a long time so didn't want to go all the way bad to last August). I think it was 13 net carbs. I used that as my base to start adding the five grams more. I also stayed on the veggie rung for several weeks.

As Isabeau said you add 5 etra net carbs to whatever your usual induciton total was.
And if you want to you can add more 5 carbs of veggies several times at 2 weeks intervals till you are having 6-8 servings per day before moving up the OWL rungs.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
