    Re: Skipping Rung 1?

Not only that tickle, but vegetables are part of a healthy diet not only for the vitamins and minerals these foods contain, but also for the fiber. A high fiber diet is associated with decreased cholesterol, decreased risk of cancers, etc. The current recommendations is to eat about 25 grams of fiber daily.

So, by skipping Rung 1, you're missing out on something that contributes to our good health.

Don't let the the quest for weight loss blind you for the quest for good health.

I'm not at that point yet, but I have a question:

When you start Rung1 , are you supposed to be eating 20 carbs per day? What if before Rung 1, you are averaging only, say 15 carbs per day?
      Started Atkins 2d time 6/20/05
      218/187/140
      Measuring every 2 weeks
As of 10/31/05, losta total of 56.75 inches!

Minimum 45 min cardio per day

Finelly, I asked this same question when I started. You want to add your 5 new carbs to whatever your average carb intake was on Induction. So if you were only eating 15, then you'd be at 20 for week 1 on OWL. (This was the thing that made it easier for me to move on from Induction, since my first week was bumped up to 18g from 13g, so I still felt like I was in the "safe" zone.)

Thanks! I always wondered, kept forgetting to ask!
