  • Simple Pleasures Are the Best!

    Hey All,
This post may sound silly to some of you but the other morning after I dressed for my workout, I looked down and low and behold! I SAW MY LOWER ABDOMEN!! I had an umbilical hernia when i was a baby so my upper and lower abs have been kind of weird. When I gain weight the top portion sticks out over the lower portion. Well, I was able to see both parts on that day!!! It has been soooo long! I've looked about 8 months pregnant for almost 7 years!! So THIS is significant for me!

    Since Atkins I have enjoyed:

*No eating Rolaids/Tums like candy because of indigestion/heartburn

*Not feeling like a gas machine because of all the carbs decaying inside of me.

*Not feeling bloated and uncomfortable again due to excess carbs

*Not being tired and sore all of the time

    *Having all of this energy

What have you enjoyed since you started Atkins? Inquiring minds want to know! lol

    Be well-

      Hey Sharon!

I've enjoyed the energy and feeling of satisfaction knowing I'm doing something for my health.
I'm with you! For so long, my weight loss was about looking good in my clothes! But now as I've gotten older my health is an issue here. I want to be around to play with my grandchildren in the future!!

I was so ill with roller-coasting blood sugars before Atkins that my life was just totally unreal. Some of the things I can do now but couldn't before are:-

Step out the front door without someone to watch me and make sure I didn't throw a hypo and attack someone.

Answer the phone without too much risk of screaming abuse at the person on the other end.

          Run 2 miles.

          Find clothes to fit.

Take on the responsibility of looking after an elderly relative.

          Allow visitors into the house.

Think straight (at least, some of the time...)

Feel like I'm taking my place in society instead of just dragging it down.

I'm still waiting for my chest to decrease in size...Buying clothes is a pain in the you-know-what right now. If it fits my bust, it's loose everywhere else. If if fits everywhere else, it doesn't have enough material to cover my bust. :no

              Hey "2big4mysize"!

woo hoo foryou guys. I know when my tummy got smaller then my chest was a big day for me
*That is a very big deal for me and I'm waiting for that to happen. I had breast reduction surgery last year and I was on another diet and doing ok on it (traditional counting calories take your money farce!)
But after I went off of that food plan I ballooned up like I was 8 months pregnant. I know I've only lost a little weight so far but I'm determined to be well proportioned once again.

Oh! A very great thing happened to me today. I wanted to buy a few new things for my daughter's graduation this weekend. I saw this so cute skirt-a size 18. I thought, 'Probably not yet.' But I wanted to try it on anyway. I've been wearing a size 22 like forever! So I slipped it on and I could button/zip it up! I will admit it was a little snug through the hips but what a great feeling!!!

Keep sharing those simple pleasures all!

Awwww - thanks Jade! It's not often anyone else admits to having even a mild version of what I was going through. Perhaps its time we started a 'Roller-Coasting-Blood-Sugar' Forum?

Oh, and don't throw confetti on me just yet. Between you, me and the gatepost I might just be needing it for something else in a few weeks time ensive

OMG, I was just discussing this with a friend today.....I have lost almost 30 pounds and have not lost ANY of my cup size yet ....and believe me, I WANT TO! ...I thought I was the only one. In the past with other diets I always seemed to lose there first...but not with Atkins...so I don't know what the difference is...but I am patiently waiting to "graduate" down to a smaller cup......and have an easier time shopping for dresses...and less back aches!

For me, my biggest triumph and moment of glee has been that I am once again seeing my real body shape. Before,I just HATED the way I looked from behind in a dress...I looked all lumpy......I just wouldn't wear anything nice because I felt nothing looked good on me anyway.....the other day I tried on a sundress at Target and I thought I was looking at someone else from behind.in the mirror....The rolls are gone from my back...and no more lumpy bumpy shape from behind.....OH HAPPY DAY!!!! Thank GOD for Atkins!

Having my "hour glass" back is wonderful. My hubby took a picture from behind without me knowing (I was rooting around in a lower cabinet for a movie) and you know what????????? I am a woman!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is really proud of me, but continues to let me know that my booty needs to stay the same while the rest of me shrinks. neg side effects--- my already little boobies are the first place I started to lose. But even with that, my boobies stick out more than my tummy now as well. YEAH!!!! :joy Good job keep up the great work.

my husband said I looked really pretty this weekend. That was a big confidence booster. I was sunburned from being on the beach, in my swimsuit and sarong standing in our camper feeding our son. He just looked at me and said that I was really pretty. My heart just melted.
