my scale and I are breaking up. I need to start seeing other people, and all he does is drag me down. I get up feeling so good, and then he starts in with his "HAHA! 217! Just like you were TEN DAYS AGO!" I mean, no, he's not physically abusive (unless you count the time I fell and stubbed my toe on him) but he's emotionally abusive. His little blinking red eyes mock me.

For this reason we're going to separate for a while. I am off on a business trip and he's going to stay in the closet until I return. That'll teach him! :raving

By the way, while I'm on my trip I'll be put up in a swanky hotel, but the rooms don't have refrigerators as far as I know. I'll be able to handle my meals okay, but do any of you have recommendations for snacks that would last without needing to be refrigerated? Tall order, I know! I'm going to be in an urban area without many grocery stores around, but I could probably venture outside the area a few times during the week I'll be gone. Maybe vegetables would be the best bet? I'd love to have some kind of protein as well, but I don't know what might work...

I am a bit frightened about being away from my kitchen and my eating routine, though I don't have the slightest desire to 'cheat'. I am more concerned with making good choices, and eating on a good schedule so I don't let my blood sugar rage out of control.

If anyone needs me, I'll be over in the corner, muttering to myself.

"217. 217! That's NO weight loss in ten days. WHY Lord, why???"

My scale doesn't even live in the house---it lives in the garage.

My scale and your scale must be related. I'm thinking of talking real sweet to mine, explaining the importance of his role in our relationship, and how he's not really giving me what I need from him..... then I'll take him outside to see the sun...... and then I'll RUN OVER HIM with my van, two or three times! :joy Yea, that idea is sounding better and better :yes .

I love kicking my scale.. yea i put the steal toe caps i work with and hit it when it does not tell it what i want it too. lolllll I have learned in such a little time that it means nothing what the scale says.. Im not divorced from it yet. i just go around with my very loose jeans and say hey babe look at me mr. scale. I also say it is limited. Cant count the fat I loose can ya.. It really hates that...My husband thinks im mad but hey thats fine he gets a laught out of it.. :yes

Do you have a microwave in your room? how about a coffee maker?

How about using a cooler and ice from the ice machine. I've done that and kept cheese, cooked snadwich meats, veggies and egggs.

I don't know what rung you are on but you can have nuts, dried fruits, flax mufins, cheese in indicvidual serving contaners. Flax chips made in the microwave on parchment paper are nice and crunchie as are cheese chips. Nut butter id you are rung 3.

DOes your hotel have a free breakfast bar? some of the larger chains have low csrb items on them.

Scales are really good for measuring how heavy your luggage are and how much you are taking on your holiday/business trips...

congratulations on your break-up. it sounds like it is best if you don't see each other anymore.
