Are you saying that you'd just eat that at each mealtime in one day? Or would you be eating other things during the day that would give you more fats and proteins?
If you are going to eat a bunch of that at one meal, you risk having an insulin spike because of all the carbs happening at once. That's why we often tell people to spread their veggies out through the day.
If it's a choice between that and a plate of fries, of course the salad wins out.

Will it be as effective regarding weightloss as having something more balanced in fat/proteins/carbs? Not positive, but I'd have to say that it wouldn't be. It's like you're talking about eating at maintenance carb levels...and maintenance does exactly that, maintain your weight level.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the salad itself, it's the amount of the salad that concerns me. If you have 1 full cup of each veggie, that's 7 cups of vegetables. If you are on Induction, that's about 3 times what you're actually allowed (since 4 of those veggies are on the 1 cup a day list). Seems like it might be better suited for OWL, and like moochiecat says, not eaten all in one sitting but spread out over the course of the day.

My other question is, why would it be "this or nothing" like you mention? If you're preparing it at home, can you throw in some chicken? If you're buying it somewhere, like a salad bar, can you add some chicken or some hardboiled eggs, or cheese at least?

Thanks Moochiecat and Effie for the quick replies.
I guess i could add cheese/eggs/chicken to it, i guess my main concern was having so much carbs at one time with the % of carbs being a lot higher then other things, it wouldnt be in the correct % range- and also i guess i was tired when i wrote it cuz i read back over and can't belive you all inderstood what i was saying. LOL. i did the fit day thing as 1 cup ech but it would actually be like 1/4 of a cup each and yes it would be at one sitting like at lunch, and then thats it, my scedule can be hectic, and i cant snack on say cheese or eggs if im in court, so with it being 1/4 of a cup of all those veggies in a lunch plate, would make any difference in me losing weight.. thanks again, and sory for the confusion.. hope this helped some..
