  • PLEASE CAN YOU LOOK AT MY MENU I'M NOT SURE ABOUT IT

Ok here goes (i'm on induction by the way, and yes i read the book):

    Breakfast
2 rashers of bacon (no carbs added i checked)
    2 fried eggs
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to cook it in

    Lunch
medium Sirloin steak salad (salad mostly loss rosso, lettuce and cucumber with 2 tablespoons of normal mayo salad equals about 1-1.5 cups )

    Snack
5 wafer thin squares of unsmokled ham
1 ounce of mature cheeder cheese

    Dinner
    medium sirloin steak salad again

Plus Water with every meal about 3 litres a day.

Work it out on fitday came to: 68/30/1 with 1542 calories.

According to fitday being that i'm 5'9 283 pounds my basal metabloic rate is 2573 but i'm not sure this is a correct generalization.

Am I eating enough? other people seem to be eating a lot more.

Plus Water with every meal about 3 litres a day.

I'm 283 at the moment so how do you calculate how much water you should drink. I know its at least 4 litres and i'm working on it but since i'm quite heavy do i need more?

This is usually my daily menu except i alter the dinner and lunch meats but still with a salad and occasionally i have an omlette instead of the eggs and bacon.

I think you need to be eating more. I think you need more veggies too, but I'm not sure. (Not sure exactly how much lettuce, how much cucumber, tomato, etc. you measured). I would think that thata bmr is pretty close to what it should be. I think the water calculation is eight cups per day plus an additional eight ounces for every 20 pounds you wish to lose and then more depending on the exercise you're doing for that day. Something like that!

I don't know of any scientific references but anecdotally people have posted that by upping the amount they eat they have increased their rate of weightloss.
It is suggested that you should eat at above your BMR to maintain weightloss.

Maybe you need to eat your cup of 1-cup veggies which have more carbs than lettuce to bring your carb caunt up.

Another way to calculate your water minimum amount is to drink half your weight in pounds but in ounces. So if you are 283 pounds now you need to drink about 140 ounces of water.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

          Hi Guy

If it says "2573" I would go by that for now because looking at your height (and you're male, right?) - it sounds about right... or maybe you could go slightly under.

You will find that this figure will lessen as you lose the weight (yes, it's ironic that the lighter you are the smaller your BMR will be)

I'm only 5'5 and eating some days nearly 3,000cals. I know it sounds absolutely crazy but I am still losing.

          Cheers
