  • Ladybug's Menu

Okey dokey, here it is, for today at least:

    Breakfast:
    2-egg omelette
sprinkling of cheddar cheese, ~ 1oz (a little under)
    2 sausages, boiled

    Lunch
    1 c romaine / radishes mix
    0.5 c spinach / tomato mix
1 chicken breast, grilled with oregano and basil
    ~1oz mozzerella cheese

    Dinner
1.5 c romaine / radishes mix (set to run out today, so don't worry I'll
    change it up!)
??? stir-fried lean beef (haven't made dinner yet, so not exactly sure)

    Snack
1-2oz cheddar cheese (depending on how hungry I feel upon returning
    home)
    LOTS of water!! arty

I'm still on the search for good low-carb salad dressing. I'm trying to Keep it Pure, but do not prefer oil and vinegar. . . . I love Thousand Island, but am shying away from its processedness. Any suggestions?

    Re: Ladybug's Menu

    Hey Ladybug

Your menu looks good. I have some additional tips for you though

Not sure what sausages you are eating, but I buy the Beef/pork chevapis from Coles/Woollies - each sausage has only 0.25-0.5g carbs in them and I have 2 most mornings, as they are made mostly of mince and skinless and they taste pretty nice.

btw, remember to use IMPERIAL cup measurements. I don't know if you are, but for weeks I had been overeating because the metric cup is 250ml whereas the imperial cup is 225ml.

Regarding the low-carb dressing, I'm too lazy to make my own, but I found some delish low-carb dressing in Woolworths, by "Cardini". There's 0.6g carbs in one serving ie 2 tablespoons and come in Caesar dressing or Italian. I like them both because I love creamy dressings. These are normally located on the very top shelf, above all the other dressing and cost AUD$4.95 a bottle. The ingredients seem ok to me and I like the taste.

    Cheers

Thanks tickle, I'll check those out. I haven't seen a Woolworth's around Melbourne though (I'm sure they're here, I just haven't seen one); did I hear that Woolworth's has the same owner as Safeway? Will check for the sausages and dressing. And extra thanks for the measurement tip; I'm still getting used to the changeover from US to metric. Why can't the US just go metric like everybody else? (*she asks rhetorically*) And thank you in advance to anybody else who has menu suggestions!

Yeah I think you're right Ladybug - Safeway and Woollies have the same owner. I'm just thinking that maybe Woollies is called something else in Melbourne, coz I remember when we were driving through NSW to drive along the Great Ocean road in Victoria, I noticed the Woollies were called Safeway(?) or something different anyway

LMAO!!!! I think that's what the rest of the world says!!! ROFL

If I remember right, the Reagan administration did try to make the US metric but I guess it didn't take.
