  • Don't believe I'm doing this right!

    I started induction on 25.07.2005 and have just ended my third week.
    I dropped 3kg the first week and that was it. I am now wondering if I am eating too much and if I am counting the carbs correctly. In Dr Atkins book is says that 230g of salads and 200g other veg is allowed per day.

    Please comment on my menu:
    Breakfast
    1 egg
    15ml mayo
    1 grilled chicken wing
    1 decafe

    Lunch
    15ml dressing (olive oil/mayo/salt/pepper)
    50g baby spinach
    50g cucumber
    40g feta
    100g tuna

    Dinner
    120g aubergine fried in oil
    120g cauliflower boiled
    1 grilled pork chop

    Snack
    6 olives

    I drink between 2½ to 3 litres of water.

    How many carbs is that? And is it too much? I could easlily eat less but I read somewhere that it is important to get your carbs. I appreciate any helpful comments you have to offer.

    Everything looks good to me. Considering your height and that you don't have much to lose I'd say you're on the right track! Just be patient...people with less to lose see it come off more slowly. And it will slow down the closer you get to your goal. Stay away from the scale and get out the tape measure! You might want to consider joining an exercise challenge...they're very motivating!

      Thank you for the words of encouragement Bugaboo.
      Could somebody let me know what the total carbs are of the menu I ate? I calculated about 12. If the measurements are a problem I can convert them.

        you can get a free online account at www.fitday.com and track your carbs and all your Atkins things like supplements and exercise too.

        remember you shouldn't be eating it until you know for sure the ingredients and the carbs in it so you don't wreck your atkins. You can do it really it is easy.

          I love that fitday program so much I bought it! Gotta admit though had to do a lot of tailoring. I do with they let you talk to each other not just show your journal.
          I don't have to attend every argument I'm invited to.

            Thanks for the tip, I visited fitday, still there seem to be some discrepancies between the values there and those give in "Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution". Which apply?
