Not sure if i cheated or not..

  • Not sure if i cheated or not..

    Got home starving, i know recipe for disaster and found myself snacking while cooking dinnner. Made sure they were all legal though, please let me know if i have eaten too much or anything wrong today .

    Breakfast:1 egg and butter
    Coffee and cream

    Lunch: 1 celery, 75g beef, 1 tablespoon mayo

    Snack:1 celery, i tbs mayo, 50g cheese

    dinner:1 pork chop , 1 cup mixed veg, 1x Mayo
    Coffee and cream

    Do you think im eatingtoo much fat????

    Want to know so i can cut back immediately if i need too.

    No!!! You're not...we don't worry about fat right now...you don't have to worry about it for awhile...if ever. Celery is not lunch...celery is a snack. You need to eat more and also to me it looks like you need more veggies.

      If the '1 celery' was one cup of celery then you were up to your 3 cups of veggies, so OK.

      Do you use www.fitday.com to log your menus and see what your ratios are? If so you can post the url here and people can see the numbers and quantities more easily.

        What kind of mixed veg did you eat? Many of the veggies in mixed veg are not really recommended for induction.

        And are you SURE you are eating enough?

          I agree - particularly for breakfast. One egg isnt much to my mind. Maybe add some mushrooms or have the egg on a bed of wilted spinach etc?

            Thanks for advice guys i read it last night and have to admit that i broke down and had another coffee with cream ( cant help but be honest here)


            Celery means 1 stalk and mixed veg refers to one cup of mixed celery and lettuce.
            Strangest thing though i have developed a taste for plain butter which i have to stop. I find when i want to snack a 1/2 teaspoon mayo and 1/2 teaspoon butter curb the craving , but is that detremental?

            You all say i should be eating more! Good heavens that would be mountains of food. Trying to watch my calories as weel.
            Fitday at the moment says im clocking about 75% fat. Is that too high?

            Really appreciate all your advice, it might just be working too. My jeans are still snug but not as snug. I havent weighed myself but according to my measuring tape im losing inches slowly.

              Plus just been told that you can gain weight in ketosos if you acceed your calorie qouta. According to fitday i consumed 1400 calories yesterday? Is that too much.


              I actually cant figure out on fitday how to work out what my calorie intake should be.

                Savannah...here is a link to a site that will give you your BMR and your AMR...scroll all the way down. It will give you an idea of how many calories you can consume. Keep in mind that the book says that you should be able to safely consume well above it on Atkins. Good luck!

                  Savannah - if your 1 celery is one stick of celery then you are way under on your 3 cups of veg

                  Maybe have some from the one-cup list as well as they have far more nutrients in them than lettuce (iceberg is virtually 'chewy water' btw )

                  I would say the 75% fat is a bit high if you get that figure regularly.

                  Do you log your food in fitday through the day or only after you have eaten it?

                  When I started Atkins induction I would enter the figures before dinner, including what I intended to eat that evening so I could alter the quantities of say mayo or butter to get it nearer 65%.
