  • How's this looking?

    Im almost finished with the 14 day induction, but one thing i noticed is im still waking up in the middle of the night...totally hungry. I will eat dinner around 6 and maybe, not often, have a snack around 8, and then im in bed by 11. I start getting the hunger pains around 3ish. I remember the first time i started atkins, it took me around a month to get rid of this ....am i not eating enough?

    Heres a sample days menu:

    Breakfast

    3 eggs
    4 pieces bacon
    1 tsp of minced garlic
    2 slices of red peppers

    Lunch

    1 can of tuna fish packed in water
    3 tbls Mayo
    1 cup romaine lettuce
    1 oz shredded colby cheese


    Dinner
    Hot wings mock

    2 chicken breast cooked
    2 tbls blue cheese dressing
    1 tbls Franks hot sauce
    1 cup spinach salad
    2 tbls ranch dressing
    28 years old
    5'7
    290lbs starting out August 30th, 2005
    170 Goal by May 31st 2006

    Looks perfect.
    Just remember that the menu is only a 1/3 of the plan so if your drinking your water and exercising as well as meal planning your doing fine.

      yes, i love fit day. im drinking tons of h2o. i just wanted to know why i was so hungry waking up...

        Every once in a while I wake up starving. I drink an 8 oz glass of water, and it goes away, and when I finally eat breakfast, I am not that hungry. Try drinking a glass of water when you first wake up and see if that helps.

          Hmm...if you were eating all your carbs at dinner time I might put the blame on that, but really, I don't know what would be causing this.
          Perhaps it's sort of a habit your body just needs to work it's way out of again? I agree with trying a glass of water to see if that works first. If you feel you absolutely cannot go without having a snack in the middle of the night, have a little something..emphasis on the 'little'. I'd hate to see this becoming a nightly ritual though, and I encourage you to work around this so you get a full nights sleep.

            Another vote for the glass of water when you wake up - it's always worked for me when i've felt hungry but known I wasn't (if that makes any sense!!!!)
