  • This is what I had on my 1st day

    Please tell me what I ma missing

    Yesterday I had this:

    Breakfast:
    2 fried eggs
    4 oz of meat
    fresh salsa

    Lunch: 0


    Dinner:
    1 hamburger pattie
    1 slice American cheese
    1/2 cup of steemed vegies

    sancks:
    1 weiner
    1 cup pork rinds

    it is soo hard for me to think of snack beside the above

        You can have deviled eggs for snacks and legal veggies like celery, cukes...dipped in a creamy salad dressing as a dip, cheese if you haven't already had your max of 3 ozs for the day.

          ohh celery sounds good! I can also have cucumber huh? okay I am off to have my snack for today! ooh arewiener okay? I cook the over the stove on a fork!

            You'll have to check the ingredients in the wieners and make sure there is no sugar and take note of the carb count if there are any. I don't eat wieners 'cause I haven't found any without sugar and low in carbs.

                  Have you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution? Also, do you know what foods are legal for induction?

                    I actually have read the book a while back and now I need to dig it out of my garage I will as soon as it stops raining

                      Not enough vegies in there. You need 2 cups salad (not just lettuce) and one cup other vegie per DAY. Also if the cheese is the kind that comes in a square wrapped in plastic...that is not good. You can have up to 3 oz real cheese per day.
                      You need to read all the stickies in the FQA forum and the induction forum. Without those and the book you are not going to get as much success as you could. Drink your water and eat those vegies!

                        Definitely get your book out and give it a good read. The ladies have touched on everything that needs tweaking (more veggies, avoiding processed meats that contain sugars and excessive sodium) and eat real cheese, not processed cheese food slices.

                          Thank You ladies, I think I did better today:

                          Breakfast: Eggs AGAIN with Salsa, cheese and 2 slices of Turkey

                          Lunch: oops I was busy

                          Dinner: I had Tuna with Tomato, Onions & jalapeno and I used Celery sticks to eat it

                          Snack: Sugar free Jello with cream cheese

                          How did I do? Ohh thanks Smooshicat I signed up for fit day very cool site!

                            Tsk tsk! Skipping meals is bad news!
                            Dr. Atkins tells us not to go 6 hours without eating because it messes up our blood sugars and messes up your metabolism. If you find you are skipping lunch, then you need to take immediate action and plan ahead so you're able to have a quick snack between breakfast and dinner. You'll feel better, your body won't be confused and the weight will come off more consistently.

                            You don't need to sit down to three square meals a day. I like to have a small breakfast, a medium sized meal at around 11:30, then have a few snacks between then and dinner. I think of it as topping off the tank when I have those snacks.

                            You still didn't get your 3 cups of veggies in!
                            So, tomorrow...work on getting some lunch in there, and eating your quota of veggies, ok?
                            And dig that book out as well. Reading about the effects of diet on blood sugars might be a good thing for you right now.

                            Tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity to do a little bit better.

                              Hello!! When I first started, It was so hard to figure out what MY body could have. I cannot eat cheese, b/c it completely stalls me. And I can ONLY have water, no art. sweetener for me which means no sugar free jello either.. I basicly started with my eggs, veggies, and chicken/ meat and then added something new each week to see what I could have. I also just recently fried some eggs and had some salsa, which i love!! and guess what..it COMPLETELY threw me out of ketosis. I was sooo bummed, but oh well. I hope this helps. Keep posting your menus and I will keep helping, if you like!! Oh btw, do you have ketosticks? They are VERY helpful. Some like 'em , some don't but I swear by them. That way, I can see what I am burning, and I dont have to rely on the scale..which is the devil!! Hope this helped!!
