    Snack:

    Lotsa water!

I've been using Fit day to calculate what I'm eating - but I'm wondering how really accurate this is.

I'm not a big egg eater, so I'm wondering where I can up my carbs with out it being from Veg.

Still plugging away at it, but really REALLY want to do it right this time and keep it off!

    Thanks for your input

    Re: Not enough carbs???

If there was BBQ sauce on your steak it probably couldn't have had 0 carbs. You are actually probably at or above the 20.

newp...just a teeny sprinkle of steak seasoning - 0 carbs on the label, and no sugar or "ose" items in the ingredients.

Perhaps have some mushrooms/tomatoes/cucumbers/spinach/broccolli or any of the higher-carb veggies in place of some of the lettuce?
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

            Re: Not enough carbs???

According to Fitday, one 8 oz mug of coffee has 1 carb...I found it under "Coffee, NS as to type " and "Coffee, made from ground, regular" so I'm not sure what you are looking under, but unless you're drinking 4 cups at a whack, your cup is only 1 carb.

Also remember you are limited to 3 tbs of unsweetened heavy cream a day...it's in the 'special category' foods, so keep an eye on that.

I agree with Elizellen and suggest you mix up your veggies from day to day and not just eat 3 straight cups of romaine. Your body needs the nutrients and fiber offered by a variety of veggies. Carbs from veggies are good carbs, so don't be shy to experiment with the Acceptable Veggies list.

Most people don't get the total net carb count of 20 a day...13 to 17 seems to be the average during Induction, so don't worry if you aren't exactly at 20. Many people have said that they feel better when they are closer to the 20, but as long as you aren't consistently low for a long period of time (as in under 15) then you are fine. You'll find that your level will fluctuate, and that's ok.
Did you read this about fitday?
            http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5235

There are mixed opinions about Fitday, but all in all I think it's a good resource.
I don't think it's particularly important to be super-precisely-microscopically-analretentively exact about the numbers....as long as you have a good idea of where you stand it's not going to matter if in reality you are one or two carbs up or down at the end of the day. If you are eating properly from the Acceptable Foods list, and following the Rules of Induction correctly, you will be falling within the correct ranges...Fitday just helps us confirm that.

Thanks for the info on coffee - I thought it was a bit high.

I've started mixing up the veggies...ie a few slices of cucumber and a handful of grape tomatos at breakfast....

(I had some unexpected expenses pop up the weekend I had planned on getting back on plan so my vegetable selection was sparse..... I was determined to get back into the game and romaine lettuce was on special, along with broccoli) and the likes of asparagus, cauliflower.....

5 day's into induction, I found my appetite already lessened, and have started cutting back on my portion of protein - so I’m feeling good about that That and I’m down 5lbs in the first week.

                1 cup romaine lettuce - 1 carbs

That bit confused me. Is it 1.5 carbs or 1 carbs per cup? Little things like that could add up.

Just thought I'd point that out.

sorry about that, when i entered my total consumption of romaine (3 cups) it totalled 4 carbs.

just the way i broke it out when posting my menu.
