  • check for hidden carbs please

    Hey guys,

    I am cutting and pasting this from my journal. Can any of you see any carbs I am forgetting?

    Breakfast—nothing, I had final grades due. Please don't yell too much. You all know I eat my breakfast normally. I did drink my water as I graded 50.7 ounces.

    Lunch—3oz tuna, 2 T. light mayo (2 carbs), 1 T. dill relish, 1 packet splenda (1 carb) and 1 c. lettuce (1.3 carbs) and another 50.7 oz water


    Dinner-- 16.9 oz. water, 8 oz baked chicken breast (0 carbs), 2 T. ranch dressing (1 carb), ½ c. summer squash- ( 1.5 carbs) 1 c. mushrooms (2 carbs)
    Snack-- no breakfast (bad plan) ...40 oz. water, 2 hot dogs (2 carbs), 1 oz. cheese (1 carb), 1 c. mushrooms (2 carbs)



    I did my Three mile tape with Leslie Sansone today so that is 45 minutes. Whew, she kicked my butt!


    Subtotal on carbs: 13.8

    Water thus far: 209 I am a drinking machine!

    Looks good! Just double checking the hot dogs though......sometimes they fill with potato type stuff, make sure you're depending on what the package says - Fitday may not have that one quite figured.

      They are kosher franks and they are all beef (Nathan's brand) and it wasn't in fit day so I used the package for them.

          Slimindown,

          Nope, no test! I have just been at the same weight for a while and everyone keeps telling me it is because I am exercising, but I wanted to have a menu looked at just to be sure.

            Me too. Although, I admit to messing up just a bit about once a week. However, I kind of stalled a little when I started exercising. I'm making it a point to be an extra good girl and hope to break through the exercise barrier soon. We kind of started everything at the same time so I'm not too surprised that we both are hitting similar issues at the same time. I'm just starting my 3rd week of exercise and know that it's kind of a given that if I can push past it, results will be seen not just by me, but others too.

              Yes, this was my 8th day of exercise and I have been pushing myself at it so I am sure that we are both stuck for the same reason. Hey, the scale could say 567 and I would still be happy if I could fit in a size 10. The numbers don't mean anything is what I keep telling myself...it is how I look and feel that counts.

                Your menu looks fine to me...except of course for the skipping breakfast part. Even if you don't have time for much, have a boiled egg on hand and snarf that down.

                How did your percentages look at Fitday?
                You've read about how when you exercise you can be losing fat but gaining muscle, right? And muscle weighs more than fat, so while the scale may not reflect it, your body fat percentage is decreasing.
                When the scale isn't moving, that doesn't mean nothing is happening.
                I've been floating around the same 3 pounds for a few months now, but I did my measurements the other day and I've lost inches.

                  We try to aim for 65% fat, 30 % protein and 5 % carbs while on induction, and I figured yours out at 49% fat, 6 % carbs and 45% protein, of course I wasn't sure what kind of cheese so I went with an oz of cheddar, and yellow summer squash and they didn't have pickle relish so I plugged in 3 slices of dill pickles, which came up to one carb
                  I would up my fat a bit, and lower my protein. I figured 19 carbs and 4 fiber for a total of 15 net carbs. Whats with the light mayo, actually fitday didn't list light mayo so I plugged in low cal mayo which had a total of 2 carbs. Yours might be something all together different

                    I love the Leslie Sansone tapes! I do her 1-2/3 mile walk when I don't have a chance to get outside. I'll be using it more now that it's getting colder out.
                    And the carb count looks about right to me.
