    Hi There Guys and Gals!!!!

    Ok....I seem to have slowed down, and am desperate not to fall off the wagon over Xmas!!

    My menu's so far consist of something like this

    Breakfast
    2 Rashers Bacon
    1tblsp Mushrooms

    Lunch
    3 Egg omlette with Cheese and Onion (1tblsp of each grated)
    1 cup of mixed leaf salad

    Dinner
    Steak with cream sauce
    Either 2 cups of veg (Broc or cauliflower)
    or
    2 cups of salad

    Snack

    1oz Cheese, sliced Chicken, 10 Olives (not all of these)

    Some days the lunch will vary to chicken and 1 cup of salad, or Salmon and a cup of salad.

    Some days dinner is a veggie and chicken stir fry, or chicken stuffed with blue cheese and veggies or Dr Atkins Burgers and Salad.

    I finished my two week Induction on Sunday this week, and seem to (on the scales at the gym) lost 10.5 lbs. But scales at home say 8lbs!!! (weighed at gym first, so should stick to same scales. Also kitchen floor is not even!!!)

    I've had a couple of gin and slim line tonics since finishing the first 14 days, and am still on Induction, but have allowed myself these drinks as it's Christmas and they are no carbs.

    Does this sound ok????

    I'm not sure what you mean by 'slowing down', but it is normal to have a pause in weight loss after the initial Induction period...give this a read:

    Are you using www.fitday.com to chart your foods? If not, here's a link to help you out with it. It can rell you where you are with your numbers and it's really helpful when it comes to tweaking what you are eating.

    Re: the alcohol...basically what alcohol does is put the fatburning on hold while your body deals with the alcohol. What you drank may not have had any carbs in it, but it did delay your weight loss, so that's the deal with alcohol. The danger with it is that if you have too much, you may lose your judgement and make the wrong food choices (story of a member who said she started drinking and woke up with a big empty bag of Fritos in bed with her) so it's best to avoid it altogether especially if you are working on building new habits.

    Beware of getting caught up in the "Oh it's Christmas...I'll have a drink/treat/whatever!" In time, when you are higher up in the rungs and in Maintenance, you can indulge in this and that once in a while, but you'll have a better understanding about the balance of things. Right now, just out of Induction, it can be a really slippery slope to allow these little cheats here and there, so think about it the next time you're offered a drink.

    Pick a scale and stick with it. My doctors scale and my scale at home are slightly different as well, so I pretty much just go by my doctors scale (the one I originally was weighed on) and use my home scale to see whether I've gone up or down, without being hung up on the number itself.

    Your menu looks good, it's great you are eating veggies in the morning, so keep up with that. See what fitday has to say about it, stay patient through the pauses that can happen, and stay committed to it all through Christmas. Each choice you make adds another piece to the big picture...each choice counts, especially right now in the beginning, so stay focussed.

      Thanks Moochicat!!

      I don't drink that much, and when I do it's only a couple.

      As I can't have any sugar or chocolate or roast potatoes over Xmas I will be having a drink or two as my treat....but we are having an Atkins Friendly Xmas....the others are eating Mince Pies and Christmas pudding, which I hate, so no temptations there!!

      Just wanted to make sure my meals looked ok...

        After induction many of us stall out for awhile. (Its not a stall really, its more like a hesitation) I think the body just is adjusting to the new diet. Don't let it get you down. The inches are probably dropping off, so try on a pair of tight pants and see what happens.
