    Hi Chelsea

    A few things.

    1) In England, our sausages are packed full of fillers so are not edible at all during induction.

    2) For the first 2 weeks of induction I would recomend that you stay away from drinking anything but water. (no de caff tea). I drank water for 6 weeks when I started, I didnt allow any other liquid to pass my lips.

    3) You mention "6 glasses of water". How big were these glasses? As it doesnt sound nearly enough. You should be aiming for at least 2 litres of water a day + an extra 1/2 a litre for every 25 lbs you want to lose. I really would recomend that you try and get down at least 4 litres of the clear stuff a day.

Finally could you post a copy of the recipe for the Cauliflower cheese? Was there a thickening agent used?

As Rich says, only water counts towards your 64+ ounces a day.
He chose to only drink water (good for you, Rich!!) but as long as you keep up the correct water intake, a cup of decaf tea here and there should be ok. If you can get decaf green tea it's very good for you too.

During the 2 week Induction period you need to eat the recommended 3 cups of veggies a day. Induction is a time to cleanse ourselves of the caffiene and sugar we used to eat and to introduce portion control back into our lives. If you are still hungry at mealtime and you've finished your veggies, then you turn to protein/fat combos.

The first rung of OWL is 5 carbs more of veggies per day so you can choose to move up there after the two week Induction period is over. And you can stay on that rung for a while if you want as well. I was happy to include more veggies in and I stayed there for a few months before I moved on.

        Hello,

I drank 6 pints of water yesterday decaf tea i have 1-3 if that a day (im not a big tea drinker and I have never drank coffee).

sausages I checked ingrediants and they seemed ok there not normal sausages lol...small cocktail type, also my local butcher does not use fillers in his sausages so im guessing they are ok ?

ok cauliflower cheese recipe i got from a the 14 day atkins diet from the mail on sunday (was a couple of yrs ago) recipe below. it was like a quiche really...

serves 6 (I cut down to serve 2)
        30g/1oz butter
        1/2 onion,peeled and finely chopped
4 cloves of garlic, peeled and finley chopped
        225g/8oz cauliflower, chopped
        2 eggs beaten
        110g/4oz Parmesan cheese, grated
5 rashers streaky bacon, cooked until crisp and then crumple.

Pre-heat oven to 180c/350f/gas mark 4 heat the butter in a frying pan add the onion and garlic and saute until the onion turns golden. Add the cauliflower and cook for a further minute more. Transfer to a bowl and add the eggs, parmesan and bacon mixwell then spoon into a buttered baking dish and bake for 1 hour or until brown.

if your butcher doesnt use fillers, then I guess its ok. I am just very suspicious when it comes to our sausages.

Good news on the pints of water.

Thanks for posting the cauliflower cheese recipe. I will be cooking it myself soon. I remember that book from the Sunday Mail it was very useful.

          Keep up the good work.
