      Hi John,

I took a look at your menu, and the 3.5 cups of green bean is high for Induction. You should select 2 cups of veggies from the Salad Vegetables on page 125 and then you could have had 1 cup of green beans.

Take a look at page 126 at the top of the page, it explains that you can have one cup per day of the 'other vegetables' if you keep your Salad Vegetables do not exceed two cups.

your fitday does count net carbs in the total below your foods.

if you want to track exact net carbs you will need to go to the goals page and tell fitdaty to tract fiber too. you can put in 1 and 2. it doesn't matter for the amounts. then fiber will appear on your totals and you can subtract it right now you have 90 carbs for the day and 31 net carbs if you really ate 3.5 cups of canned green beans today.

isn't a can of green beans more like 3.5 servings at a half cup each?
That wouldn't be 3.5 cups.. more like 1.75 cups. He'd have had to eat 2 cans to get 3.5 cups. Still too much for other veggies, but better than 3.5 cups!

depends on where you buy your cans, but that was why I was questioning 3.5 cups of beans.

I am glad you have decided not to let it 'somehow work out' anymore but make plans to have it 'work out' better.

Make sure you take a look at the complete list of 2-3 cup veggies, there's a lot more than just lettuce!!

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Re: Need advice on my menu

We very rarely eat lettuce. When we make a salad I put lettuce in because bf likes it, but I focus on the other veggies...radishes, celery, green and red peppers, zucchini, tomato...you name it, it's in there.

Instead of a salad cut up some veggies and have them with ranch or blue cheese dip. Or do them up on a stir fry.
It's good to have variety so you don't get bored...and so your body gets the nutrients and fiber it needs.
