    It looks good.

You don't need to eat eggs if you don't like them. Breakfast can be leftover meat from last night's dinner or lunch!

Thanks! I have always hated eggs. The only way I can eat them is hardboiled and Im still not too crazy about that either. I was told that the attitude I had about eggs wasnt going to be helpful to me, so I thought I would try to eat them and will myself to like them Thanks for the reply.

Phooey! Whoever told you that should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!

There are alot of protein/fat foods on those Induction lists. You can choose to eat whatever you like. If you like lamb chops, go for it. If you like crab, go for it. If you like salmon, go for it.

You don't have to eat eggs. Period. You don't have to eat eggs for breakfast. Period. If you want to eat lobster for breakfast, go ahead and do it.

Many mornings I eat the leftovers from the night before: cold grilled chicken, a chicken leg, a pork chop, meat loaf, meatballs, whatever. Sometimes I made tuna patties from a can of tuna. For snacks, I eat leftovers as well or I eat tuna and mayo, or sardines in oil.

So look at the lists. If you don't like eggs, don't eat them.

Your menu looks great! You're really getting your veggies in, which is so important. Megs is right--phooey on the eggs! I've eaten myself sick of them and rarely have them. Since you like mushrooms, if you want a "breakfast food" style breakfast, I make an eggless omelette:

            3-4 slices bacon on bottom
top with mushrooms/veggies of your choice
            top with 1-1.5 oz. cheese

You can do this in the microwave in a minute with ready to eat bacon, or if you've got some already cooked.

Oh that sounds good. Ya know I hate it when Im misinformed...I beat myself up all day thinking that I screwed up my diet that Ive been working so hard at. I havent read the book yet ( bad bad bad, i know )and I am very new to all of this I look to this forum and the Atkins website for all my info. I woke up this morning all ready to start my induction over again because I thought I " had " to have eggs. I will try and eat them a few times a week, because they're good for me, I just dont want them every darn day.

Phooey! Whoever told you that should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!
I said it and I'm not ashamed of it. I'm a big fan of eggs. Bella1031, I said what I said to help you. Never to mislead you. When I was a newbie, many volunteers here at the board told me things I didn't want to hear.
Quite honestly, I thought some of them were mean people. I learned over time though, that they were only trying to help me get on the right path.

When I started Atkins I didn't want to eat veggies. I didn't want to eat fish. I didn't want to give up coffee. I didn't want to eat eggs everyday. There were lots of things I didn't want to do. I wanted to alter the diet to suit what I imagined were my own taste preferences. But I took it on faith that Dr. Atkins knew what he was doing and I forced myself to start eating these healthier foods for my own long term benefit.

Attitude is everything. There are reasons why Dr. Atkins chose the menus that he did.

As for myself, after ketosis set in, my palate altered completely. Foods that originally didn't taste great to me now did. Before ketosis, I was bored with eggs. After ketosis, I found I could eat them everyday.

You cannot anticipate how ketosis will alter your appetite. You have to be in ketosis for a while and see how you feel then. That why I think it is best to keep an open mind about it.

If you have been in ketosis for two months and you STILL hate all eggs, Not2late, is correct. You don't have to keep forcing yourself to eat something you don't like. But keep an open mind at first. Experiment with different recipes. Eggs are extremely versatile. They are low in carbs, quick and easy to make, and very inexpensive.

I really like eggs but only if I cook them kinda like crepes but without flour and stuff... I just put a bit of butter or non stick cooking spray in a pan, and beat my egg in a bowl witha bit of salt and with a splash of water, then I pour about 1/4 of the egg in teh pan and put some pepper on it when it is firm, then I flip it for a few seconds adn voila! crepes... however, i eat them plain I just don't like the texture of egg I guess and I really like them this way... sometimes I will cook them in olive oil too, gives it a bit of a flavor...
Caution I BITE! clicky clicky..its tricky rikki!

I love eggs! Boiled, fried, any old way! But if YOU don't, there is plenty of other lean protein to eat. Eggs are just so easy to prepare and so versatile!

The only thing I would say would is that I would try to get in a bigger variety of veggies if I were you. You have had 2 cups of salad veggies today. Both were lettuce. usually if you get stuck in a rut, it makes the way of eating boring and easier to cheat.

But yeah the eggs are optional.

                      Have fun!!!!

These would make great wraps too!
