Fitday question, I am a little lost!

  • Fitday question, I am a little lost!

    I don't think I am using Fitday correct. I thought that in the column at the top, you took your total carbs, and subtracted the fiber to get your net carbs. It a different post 2big said that fitday does it automatically. If that is the case, I go over my carbs allowed if I eat the veggies that I am allowed. I am so confused on this! I don't see a spot anywhere on Fitday for Net Carbs, just total carbs. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

    I am a little nervous about this, because I had planned on starting OWL tomorrow, but if I have been wrong about Fitday I am going to have to stay on Induction until I get this figured out.
    What would we do without it?

    I don't think Fitday is deducting fiber. I have a cup of broccoli as 4 net carbs and it shows up on your journal as 8.

      There is a section in my spreadsheet for 'fiber' grams.

        Thank you, do you think I have been doing the right thing by taking the fiber out of my total carbs to get my net carbs?

          With the numbers I see showing in your journal, yes.

          I'm sure someone more familiar with FitDay will explain the calculations there. Perhaps its the food choice you make there. A cup of chopped broccoli is more dense than a spear so that may explain it.

            actually it depends on where on fitday you look



            you can tell fitday to track fiber in the goals section and it will list the fiber for you to subtract in the cals total. or you can just use the number at the bottom of the foods eatten chart.

              Ok, I know I am slow, but for yesterday it said 20 total carbs, 6 total fiber. Wouldn't that be 14 net carbs for the day? I am sorry I am not getting this, but I am having a hard time. Thanks for the help.

                my bad. you see a different chart then we do when you make it public. we don't see your top chart with fiber listed.

                  Ok, good!! Thanks 2big! I always value your opinion and advice, you really know your stuff!!! I know I have bugged you a bit since I joined, and you always have been terrific!!!
