    How much do you have to lose? You can start working your way up the rungs to get more variety and still lose weight. By the time you get to pre-maintenance and then maintenance, you can have the occasional low carb bread product, and you can have berries and some dairy etc. depending on which rung you are on. If you follow the book you can work your way up and be really successful instead of nibbling things here and there and feeling like you are cheating. The idea is to put everything back in our diet that we took out in our attempt to learn better eating habits.

      I agree about the low carb taco sheels and candy. A lot of people have failed because of low carb products that stimulated our appetites for sweets and carbs and slowed down weight loss. I'm one of them. If you drop those items the wight loss won't be nearly as slow. Remember, sometimes folks here sound preachy but it's only because they've been there done that and want to pass on their experience and encourgaement.

        I have 100 more lbs to lose that is why I was staying at 20 carbs or less a day. I feel like people think that I eat these low carb things all the time. I don't. I really do appreciate the help and advice from those who have been successful.

          try looking at the OWL forum and the modified OWl you8 can swap out some of your junk induction carbs other then the 3 cups of veggies for the OWL rungs. I was able to add back another cup of veggies and on ounce of nuts for my first 100 pounds without moving all the way to OWL and finding the CCLL.

          chapter 13 talks about boredome but says that is a reason to move to OWL for more food choices like your watermelon which is rung 7 OWL

          OWl isn't going to stop your weight loss completely. many folk lose better in OWL then in extended induction. post a topic in the OWl forum asking them about it and they will tell you with actual dates weeks and pounds lost charts some of them ahve made.

            I have a girlfriend who ate from the induction food list but also ate low carb ice cream and sunflower seeds and diet pepsi from day one and lost 66 pounds. She walked occasionally and is now 126 pounds. I'm just wondering how this worked so well for her?

              That is great for you friend! Good for her. On this board, we go my Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, and we try to stick to that formula. It isn't that we don't know there are other ways to 'low carb', this is just the way we have chosen and what we feel works best. I know people who have lost weight on South Beach, but that isn't for me. That doesn't mean that it didn't work for them, or I am not happy for them. We have sister boards for other forms of low carbing. I hope that makes sense, I am not always as clear as I would like to be. LOL
              What would we do without it?

                Well Im sticking to the plan...I have a problem controlling portions. The ice cream would be gone in a day....

                  The portion control was hard for me at first, but I learned. If I can do it, you can do it!! I was a total piggy before I found Atkins and ADBB.
                  What would we do without it?
