Lunch: tuna or chicken salad, with Hellmans mayo, onion and celery

Dinner: tonight, cauliflower and parm, grilled chicken breast w/herbs and lemon juice

last night: cheeseburger, grilled onions and sauteed zucchini

    and water

Re: Am I doing it right?

Are you measuring your veggies and following the rules? Some veggies are one cup, and some are two cup. For example, mushrooms are 2 cups veggies, but broccoli is a one cup veggie. Also, if you eat 2 cups lettuce, and one cup broccoli, you are done with veggies for the day. Onions are high in natural sugar, you may want to cut down on them a bit. Have you read DANDR?
What would we do without it?

Re: Am I doing it right?

I think the answer is absolutely yes, you're on the right track. Your food choices are very good overall. Onions are absolutely fine, as long as you're watching how many you have and counting the carbs (I have them nearly every day). Sunflower is right though, you do need to make sure you get the right amount of veggies - 2 cups of "salad veggies" and one cup of "other veggies" each day. Those aren't just "allowable" on Atkins, they're required, your body needs them for both nutrition and for the fiber they contain.

I looked up the ingredients in your Hellmann's mayo, did you know it contains sugar? That's a red flag for sure, and you might want to consider finding a sugar-free version.

INGREDIENTS: Soybean Oil, Whole Eggs, Vinegar, Water, Egg Yolks, Salt, Sugar, Lemon Juice And Natural Flavors, Calcium Disodium EDTA Used To Protect Quality.

Oh my. Once I looked up Hellman's I also looked up MY brand and lo and behold it also has sugar! I'm stunned, not only that it contains it but that I didn't know that before now! SO thanks, you've helped me with MY menus too! Now I'm on a quest to find a sugar-free mayo (anyone out there have any suggestions)? I've ALWAYS used Kraft Real.

You're spreading your carbs out well, not having them all in one meal which is a common pitfall. You're choosing whole, real foods, which is fantastic.

Some random tips, just in case you haven't gotten them yet: It looks like you did fine on this day, but make sure you always have at least 50% of your daily carbs from your allowable veggies. And if you don't know, the goal percentages of your food intake should be 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs. Believe it or not, if you eat too much protein your body will turn it into glucose and it can cause insulin spikes just as bad as eating sugar. Another tip: I can't tell WHEN your meals were eaten, but it's important to never go 6 waking hours without eating something, no matter how small. Also make sure to eat breakfast within an hour of waking to kick-start your metabolism.

Good luck, you're doing great so far!
