  • I'd love YOUR input :)

While this is my second time around, it's been over 8 years since I was in this part of the diet. With that said, it's easy to see why I've forgotten SO much.

I've got the whole 65%/30%/5% down. That's easy. What I'm confused about is the carb count. I try to have my Fitday percentages even at every meal. If not, I try to level them out by the end of the day. However, when I read other posts in this forum I keep seeing much lower vegetables and/or carbs in their menus.

I think I'm eating a lot of veggies and still keeping the carb count to under 20 and at 5%. Perhaps Fitday is just averages and I'm eating too much?

Thanks in advance for any input you might have!

Looking at your veggies for the last few days, yes for induction you are eating more than the allowed 2-3 cups of 'salad veggies' plus one cup of the 'other veggies' list if you are not eating 3 of the salad veg list. But because you are choosing to eat a lot of lettuce this is keeping your carbs down.

In fact it looks to me more as if you are eating quantities according to the first rung of OWL, where you could have upped your carbs to 25!

Your fat/protein/carbs ratio looks good though!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

yep definately more veggies then induction level. Dr Atkins changed the plan in 2002 and we are no longer allowed to use a carb counter and make up our own 20 carb plans. it is eat only the foods in the acceptable foods lists and eat 3 cups of veggies aday for induction then OWL lets you add 5 net carbs more of those yummy veggies. Get yourself a copy of DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 edition. it will be the best $7 you ever invested in yourself.
