  • stalled... review me again please

    I've hit a bit of a 2 lb gain/stall. I'm hovering between 187 and 189. It's driving me crazy as I am a major scale whore! Here is what I ate today:

    breakfast- 2 egg whites, 1 half slice whole american cheese, 1 sausage patty

    lunch- 1 cup iceburg lettuce, 1 oz shredded cheddar, 92% lean beef pan friend with chili/cumin/onion/garlic/salt/pepper, 2 TBSP fresh salsa made of tomato/onion/green pepper from my garden, 2 TBSP whole sour cream

    dinner- 8 oz pulled roast pork, 1 cup fresh greenbeans well cooked

    snack- will be 1 cup of raw broccoli with approx 1 TBSP carb solutions ranch

    I tried the whooshie pie, i'm still doing mucho cardio and some light muscle building workouts at home 5-6 days a week. I'm drinking 80-100 oz of water everyday (reusing dasani bottles to be sure)... anybody have any ideas as to why i've stalled?

    First off, Bluerain (I love that name...) you look absolutely awesome!!

    Excellent job!! You really look like you're losing inches? (Have you)

    Remember muscle weighs more than fat, could be you're toning up...

    Your meal looked fine to me, not much different from what I would eat, except the sausage.....

    I'm not an expert, maybe see what a couple more people have to say...

    Oh yeah....PUT YOUR SCALE AWAY!!! Maybe only weigh once every 2 weeks not that you've lost so much....it will start up again!!

    Don't weigh so often....(Scale Whore??? yikes.....Scale Junkie would be nicer.....haha!!! )

      first are you 4 weeks with no scale weight nor inches lost? thatis Dr Atkins definition of a stall anything else is just a weight loss hesitation.

      First you need to spread your veggies to all meals so you are having some fat some protein and some carbs at all meals so you are fueling your body right all the time.

      next did you need to eat all that food at ecvery meal to satisfy your hunger? that is one very hard thing for folk to learn. we only eat enough to satisfy our hunger when we ate and stop even if we got food opn the plate carbs in the budget or room in our belly. Some days you will be hungry and eat motre others the 6 hour rule will come into play.

      As was said above you could just ne morphing your body working your Atkins and this is a temperary gain in scale weight as you shed fat tissue and add lean tissues your tape measure should tell you if this is so.

        The weight work could probably be making a difference in your stall, but you are an inspiration. Patience is all you need, but you sure do look quite fit.

        Have you entered your dietary information on FitDay.com? My first week of Atkins was not working weightwise, but I tracked everything I ate--and I was very, very honest in what I entered. Voila and Bob's your uncle! My calories were way up there--definitely out of sight for weight loss, Atkins or not. I lowered my caloric intake by two hundred calories over three days, and today the weight finally dropped on the scales at our gym. If you try the FitDay analysis, it would at least let you get a quick, objective overview--and you can also check out your nutrient intake! That nutrient intake information was a great eye-opener for me.

        Anyway, from one who is just beginning to someone who has done so well: Congratulations on your accomplishments!

          Yuo've done well, you look fabulous! You're probably just adjusting. I hit a plateau at around 210 or so that took a while to get through. All I had to do was stick with it and keep working out! Keep with it...you've come so far.

            Thanks every for the advice you've given me. I haven't checked on the scale in a couple of days, I don't think I will. I'll wait another week or so.

            It has been about 2 1/2 weeks in this slump, so not quite 4 yet. I eat as much per meal that it takes to make me feel satisfied. I've been hungrier lately, especially this past week or so. I do watch my caloric intake and limit it more, but it just hasn't been a possibility lately. I try to stay under 1500. I know for sure i'm building more muscle in new places, soreness and all. Finally got a stability ball, lots to do with it.

            I'm more stressed right now, could that be doing something? I'm preparing to move away 4 hours from home (first time ever) for school within a month, and it's a culinary school, so i'm trying to whittle away as much as I can before that hits. I also started taking BC pills in hopes of restricting TOM to a few times a year. I figure less TOM, less miserable bloat.

              yep bioth of thiose could be causing your hunger issues. some folk ingrease blood sugar in response to stress others drop it either way it would effect the hunger controls. you could also just be thinking you are hunger cause your Dr Brain is trying to medicate the stess with your old medication food as many foods minic the meurotransmitters needed for stress releif. BC pils will effect your estrogen levles which will effec lots of blood proteins which will effect other hormones which could cause you to slow weight loss and metabolism.

              oh boy a fitness ball you joining the pushup challenge? using it for free exercise as a chair while typing? great workout there your abs will be so sore after the first few days of ball sitting instead of chair sitting.

                Wonderful idea with the ball! I need to put forth some effort and look into new and fun ways to use it. I will definitely try the chair replacement soon. Too tired for it tonight. I've been doing the ball pushups, my neck and shoulders are kinda sore.
