    Hi,

I found fitday yesterday (thanks to the good folks on ADBB) and wrote down everything I ate and I was wondering if someone could check it out and see if I did okay. I want to do this right this time. I've lost almost 8 lbs since the 14th but I am sure I'll do extended induction and want to ensure I'm doing it right.

I usually have a large salad every day but when I went to make my salad, it had gone bad so Ijust fixed a bit of broccoli and cauliflower instead. Normally I do have more dietary fiber.

If I understand what I'm doing correctly, I customized fit day to find out my net carbs which is my carbs minus dietary fiber so it would be 20.1 carbs minus 4.9 dietary fiber equals 15.2 net carbs?

    I was 65% fat/4% carbs/31% protein - I was close........

I haven't started today's yet because I haven't really been hungry but I'm going to go fix something to eat right now.

Re: Newbie in need of expertise

I just looked at your menu and here are my little critiques

    1) Ditch the low-cal Italian dressing and use Ranch or Blue Cheese, Caesar or Oil and Vinegar instead. The low calorie stuff usually has added sugar to it.
    2) The fruit drink...I won't say ditch it totally, but make sure that you get all your water in addition to that drink. If you get the munchies or you find yourself wanting more and more of the sweet taste...ditch it altogether.
    3) You don't have enough of the veggies on the "salad" list. Tomatoes, broccoli and cauliflower are all on the 'other' list.
    4) Gelatin, same as for the fruit drink.

Other than those little things which are easily corrected, your menu looks good! Welcome aboard!

      HI,

Thanks so much for the help.

I'll definitely switch my salad dressing and start making my own with oil and vinegar and spices. I do have a Newman's Own Ceasar that says it's 1 carb per 2 Tbsp. I checked for hidden carbs using a counter and it said -.25 (not sure what that means) is it okay to use?

I usually don't do the Crystal light drinks but yesterday I felt like I'd had it up to my eyeballs with water so I had a glass and then went right back to my water.

As for the veggies - I normally eat a large salad every night with a meat for supper but my salad mix had went bad so I'm heading back to the grocery store today to pick some more up. I miss the salad when I don't have it.

The sugar free jello was my treat for the week so I won't be doing that very often

Thanks again so much for the help. I want to make sure I'm doing this right!

          Hi,

Just thought you might like to know, be careful with the Jello. The only reason is because right now Jello Brand Sugar Free jello contains, Aspartame. Aspartame is not our friend.

I keep hearing, and watching for Jello Brand to come out with the splenda sweetened Jello, but it keeps getting pushed back.

I make my own, using Knox unflavored, a little bit of splenda, and flavored with DaVinci (sweetend with Splenda) Raspberry, Grape or Strawberry syrup.

It took some experimenting to get it just right and I think I've got it. it would be a heck of alot less work if Jello would get off their butts! haha!!

Good Luck! I thought everything looked right on except for the things Joy mentioned.
