  • Menu Review Please

    Hi,

I'm on extended induction and I've put the scales away for awhile since I became a bit obsessed.

Although I had a fast start with my weight loss, I don't feel like I'm loosing weight right now so I'm including a link to fitday to find out if I'm doing things okay.

I've been a bit stuck in a rut with my food but I'm grocery shopping on Sunday and will be trying some induction recipes to add some new items.

http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=prfctlildvl I've only had Broccoli so far today but the archive is on the right hand side so you can get a better idea of what I've been eating. Thank you for all the help!

Congratulations on putting away those scales!
It is perfectly normal to have a big loss at the beginning of induction, followed by fluctuations, with ups, downs, and no change at all for various periods of time. You should know that as long as you are burning more calories than you take in, you are losing fat, but scales don't know when you are retaining water or gaining muscle. It's just a number. Over time, it will get smaller.

Your fitday is well-kept. I can't tell what was in each meal though. You say you've only had Broccoli so far today. How long have you been up? You should have your first food soon after waking, and each meal ideally will contain some each of carbs, protein and fat. At the end, you should have eaten 5, 35, & 65% respectively, if your still doing induction. You seem to be getting a good variety of foods.

    Keep it up!

      Hi,

I agree with Boonie, good for you on putting the scale away for awhile!

I looked at the last week of menus and feel you may want to cut back on the cured/salty meats (ham, bacon, pepperoni) for other proteins (tuna with mayo, piece of chicken). Also, you might want to remove the artificial sweetner (drinks and gelatin) and see if you start moving down again.

Oh, and try to up the water intake!

Great loss on Induction by the way! You're doing great!

It kinna worries me that you only had broccoli today. Make sure your meals contain fat, protein and carbs.

Thanks everyone! I was not getting in as many veggies as I should have so I had broccoli for a late breakfast. For lunch I had a mozzarella cheese stick and some ham. I'm going to a birthday party for my niece tonight and they are having pizza so I am going to bring my own salad with spinach, green pepper, cucumber, feta cheese and ranch dressing and a boneless pork chop left over from supper last night.
