  • My Induction Menu

    Induction Menu:
Breadfast: 4 slices of turkey bacon, 1 boiled egg, and 1 oz. cheddar cheese
Snack: 1 six oz. can of tuna packed in water
Lunch: 3/4 cup of collard greens (fresh and cooked in water with salt), skinless chicken breast baked with dry onion flakes, and 1 oz. of cheddar cheese
Snack: 1 oz. of cheddar cheese, 1 boiled egg, and 1 oz. can of tuna packed in water
Dinner: 3/4 cup of collard greens, salmon baked in 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1 oz. of cheddar cheese

I am drinking plain water throughout the day (nothing else).
I do not like any of the other leafy vegetable on the list. The only other vegetable I like is green beans. I'm very picky. So, this menu may seem very bland but, this is all that I could come up with. Please give me your honest opinions.

Unfortunately collard greens are on the 'one-cup' list so you are overeating them by half a cup!

What about mushrooms, peppers or cucumbers which are on the 2-3 cup list along with lettuces of all kinds?

You can eat any of the 'salad' list cooked if it is the taste of them raw you dont like!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Elizellen: Would "dill pickles" be okay? I really can not stand the taste of other leafy vegetables. They make my stomach feel ill.

        Hi Misslilli:

You really need to get yourself set up with fitday. I plugged in your day's menu and came up with this:

1433 calories (far too little for your frame) 19 carbs (okay for induction)
        41% protein (Should be 30%)
56% fat (Should be more like 65%)
        3% Carb

So, after seeing what fitday says, you need to cut back on the protein, raise the fat and your carbs seem okay for now, but I would reccommend reaching out a little a trying some salad veggies!

If the pickles have no sugar or other non-induction ingredients then you can count them as some of your salad veggies. I dont know if yours have a lot of salt, but some people find eating stuff with a lot of salt/sodium can make them retain water, so keep yor water intake going too!

Have you rechecked the 'salad' list - there is more than leafy vegies there!

I like the pickles as a snack, but I think elizellen is right about the sodium....keep an eye on them. Probably making them a staple would be a bit too much.

Otherwise, follow the advice and keep at it. Looks like you have a good base. Just up the fat a bit, and you'll be golden.
