  • Back On Atkins Need Some Help With My Menu

    Ok after a long hiatus of coming off atkins, getting disillusioned, tryin other things like low GI i think i've come full circle. So i'm starting this again with induction i've listed my menu, what do you guys think?

    P.S i've included a link to my fitday profile of the menu so all the nutrients and stuff are up there.

    Breakfast
    4 scrambled eggs in 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil

    Lunch
    Tuna/Chicken Salad (cucumber, lettuce, tomato 100 grams)
    2 Tablespoons Mayonaise

    Dinner
    Chicken Breast Cooked in 2 tablespoon olive oil
    Spinach and Tomato (150 grams) in olive oil vinegarette (2 tabespoons olive oil)

    1897 = kcals
    63/35/2 = Fat/Protein/Carbs.

    I'm not very good with the metric system, but I'll just say make sure you're having 3 cups of veggies a day, either 3 salad, or 2 salad + 1 "other." Your percentages are pretty close (they should be 65% fat, 30% protein, 5% carbs) just make sure you don't overdo it on the protein, because excess protein turns to glucose. Also, only eat if you're hungry--don't feel obligated to clean your plate. If you don't finish it, wrap it up, put it in the fridge for later.

    Oh, and drink ALL of your water, and then some!

      I think I'm glad you're back and your menu looks good, but if you are only getting in two carbs a day, that is bad, bad, bad.
      Really you should be getting in 20 on induction. I think you count each egg as one carb, but DNDR says they are .6 grams each. Then with your veggies you should add up to more than two. It's not a lot, but more than two I think. You should add some more carbs. Oooh, I hope one of our ADBB pro's will see this post and help you better than I have.
      It's great you're here and you are on the right road!!!!! I'll be looking for your induction results, I know they will be great!

        I'd also try cutting back on tomatoes. Those are particularly high in carbs and natural sugars. Try other things like squash, green beans, etc.

        Otherwise, looks pretty good!
