    http://www.fitday.com/WebFit/PublicJournals.html?Owner=lisadallasr hi today is day 6 of my first week starting over, i would love some feedback as far as my fitday is concerned, i drank 2 cups of coffee this morning which i usually do only one, just was wanting another cup. my starting weight is was 285, im already 5lbs down which i know is water weight since i was bloated when i started from trying to eat healthy for the last month and i just cant handle whole grains i think. my total carbs percentage was 4%, fat was 68%, and my protein was 28%.

    You already know caffine is not recommended, so I wouls try decaf or just giving it up.
    You have 6 sweetners and we are only alowed 3.
    If I read it right you havd 4 cups of vegis for the day and it should have been 3 or less.
    5 lbs is great, drinking extra water will also help you flush that water weight.

      Thanks for the response, i know i overdid it with the coffee, me and my hubby are going to walk this morning 6 miles and wanted the extra kick, i usually only do one cup with three servings of splenda, i dont use the packets i just use a teaspoon which i dont use heaping i shake a lot of it off so i measure it to be like a packet per teaspoon, actually caffeine does not cause cravings in me if i recall that is what the book states, i have never had problems with caffeine and i drink a gallon of water a day so i know i get plenty of that, im still confused on the veggies i keep my carbs right at 20 and that is after i subtract the fiber, if i had to cut back anymore i would just be eating some chicken for dinner which i know would not satisfy me oh im so ready to move on to owl i love veggies and im having only one serving at dinner and usually a salad at lunch which im not a big salad person to begin with, i get so confused on this part some people say you need the veggies and then i look at some menus and they are eating mostly meat and cheese which i cant do cheese it causes me to bloat and i cant lose when i eat it, but the first time i did atkins i hardly ate any veggies the first two weeks and i lost real quick but i want more than to lose at a fast rate i want to eat more healthy which i think atkins is a healthy way of eating but i cant see how 4 cups of veggies can be unhealthy especially if your sticking to 20 net carbs a day. I know i sound confused because i am lol, im trying to do it right this time around and i just cant seem to get there.

        During induction you should have 2-3 cups of veggies every day. It is best to spread them out having some for each meal because eating them all at once can cause some to sugar spike. Some folks find it hard to include veggies with their breakfast, but if they are eating just meat and cheese they are not doing themselves any good.
        Cheese is limited so if you don't eat any don't worry about it. Its a good source of fat though.
        I think your doing fine As soon as your induction is over move up one rung to the OWL level More Veggies and you'll be happy.

          the cheese bloating you sounds like you have a dairy issue and if so you should avoid all dairy the grains bloating you could easily be an intolerance of the grains you picked and you will need to be very careful when you get to rung 9 of OWL which is grains.

          I'm guessing you don't gave DR ATKINS NEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 edition but actually have the Atkins Essencials since that book says 4 cups of veggies for induction.

          The caffiene is an insulin evoking chemical and insulin is a fat storing chemical so for maximum weight loss and minimum weight issues it would be best to give it up.

          We also have a 3 serving a day limit on our sweeteners from all sources so if you are putting 3 in your coffee that is it for the day.

          As to the amount of food you are having did you eat every bite cause youwere hungry at the time you eat it? or were you having it cause you had room in your belly and it was a legal food choice? Being on day 6 your ketossi should have your appetite suppressed to help you. Be sure every bite you take is only feeding hunger and you will be a life long Atkins goalie.
