No weight loss with week. Should I make some changes in my menu?

  • No weight loss with week. Should I make some changes in my menu?

    It's been a week since I restarted Induction. I weighted myself this morning expecting to see a weight loss. But the scales showed the same result as it was a week ago, no change in my measurements as well .

    Could you please have a look at my menu. Any comments on it would be really appreciated.

    10 Dec (Sun) – 1 day

    B: Bacon And Onion Omelette (Net Carb 1.6g) 400 kcal

    L: Fish Chowder (net Carb 4.3g) 418kcal
    (Atkins New Diet Cookbook – 68Fish Chowder)

    D:Cucumber Tuna Boats recipe (Net carb 5g) 426kcal

    1/2 cucumber
    1/2 can tuna
    1 hard boiled egg, diced
    1 oz Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 tbsp mayonnaise
    1 tbsp dill, chopped
    1 slice chopped onion
    couple drops of lemon juice


    11 Dec (Mon) – 2 day

    B: Bacon And Onion Omelette (Net Carb 1.6g) 400 kcal,

    L: Fried salmon with buttery sauce & green beans (Net Carb 3g) 456kcal

    D: Fried salmon with 7 slices cucumber and 1 tbs dill and 2 tbs mayonnaise (Net carb 2g) 494 kcal

    Snacks: 2 slices of fried bacon (Net carb 0g) 211 kcal

    ½ tomato (Net carb 2 g ) 13 kcal

    80g cheddar cheese (Net carb 3g) 320 kcal

    Drinks: 1 cup of decaf tea

    12 Dec (Tue) – 3 day

    B: 2 fried eggs (on sunflower oil) + spring onions+1 oz cheddar cheese + 4 slices cucumber (Net carb 2.6g) 318kcal

    L: Fried salmon with 7 slices cucumber and 1 tbs dill and 2 tbs mayonnaise (Net carb 2g) 494 kcal

    B: 2 fried eggs on butter, 1 tbsp spring onions, 3 small mushrooms, 3 slices of cheese (Net carb 3g) 426kcal

    L: Cauliflower Soup with Dill and Caraway Seeds (Net Carb 9.4g) 300kcal

    D: Fried chicken breast on olive oil with 2 mushrooms, 3 slices of onions. ½ tomato and 1.5 tbsp mayonnaise (Net Carb 5g) 504 kcal.

    D: 2 fried eggs (Net carb 1.6 g) 191 kcal

    Snack: 200 g cheese (Net carb 7g) 800kcal

    Drinks: 2 cups of decaf tea

    16 Dec (Sat) – 7 day

    Hi Jurgita

    I see you are 5'5" and wanting to get down to 110 pounds which means you dont have that much to lose in total if your body will let you get that low in weight.
    I looked at several sites and saw between 114-150 pounds recommended (BMI's between 19 and 25) and that a rough estimate of your current BMI was about 22-23, so it may be you will find it slowgoing to lose as much weight as you want to.

    Your meals seem well balanced and varied but you do seem to be eating maybe more cheese than the recommended 3-4 ounces a day - on Friday it looks like 10 ounces in total!!

    Are you exercising as well? If so (and exercise is new to your body) your muscles might be 'superhydrating' in order to save you from whatever danger it thinks is making you move more than usual, which will add weight and mask any losses you are having.

    You didnt mention water - are you getting your minimum of 64 fluid ounces plus 8 more ounces for the 25 pounds or so you want to lose?

    F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )

      Thank you ever so much, Elizellen, for all the effort you have put in looking through my menu Knowing the reasons for no weight loss makes me feel better.

      I know that sometimes I overdo with cheese - small bite follows other small bite and suddenly all cheese is gone. This week I did buy it at all - less temptation. In the last week's menu I forgot to mention water and exercises, but I do both of them. Lots of water and about 45 minutes exercising each day.
