  • 10th day on Induction, no weightloss. Help.

Here what I have on a typical day, My measurements are estimates because I don't follow recipes. I have to state that I only need to lose about 10 lbs. I'm 5'7 and 140. I want to be about 130lbs for an April wedding. I'm walking 3 miles a day, and doing 30 minutes of pilates. I can tell my shape is changing, getting toner for sure, but no weightloss, and I'm getting discouraged.

    Breakfast:
    Omelet with 2 eggs

Half a container of sliced mushrooms

3 turkey sausages (0 carbs according to box)

    Snack:
One String Cheese, couple pieces beef Jerky

    Lunch:

1.5 cup Chicken salad (Made with roasted chicken, green onions, mayo, and celery)

1 Low carb Tortilla wrap (7g net carbs)

    Snack:

    One Atkins bar

    Dinner:

Salad with mixed lettuce, cucumbers, 2 TBSP blue cheese dressing

    10 oz. Tri-tip (glazed with BBQ sauce…..bad I know)

jaysonsmom, you may be loosing inches, even if the scales aren't showing a loss yet. The scales don't know the difference between fat, water and muscle. The chances are good that you have over 20g of carbs, and because you are very near a normal weight for your height, your rate of fat loss will be slower, as you need less energy to run your body. You could be eating near your body's maintenance level, and replacing fat with muscle. If this is the case, you will lose slowly, but still shrink.

Try entering this menu into www.fitday.com and see your total intake - it will show total carbs and fiber (the difference being your net), as well as calories. You may wish to cut out the Atkins bar, BBQ sauce and the wrap on the tortilla, and/or add more vigorous exercize. Perhaps one of the challenges could get you going.

One other note - the sausage can legally be 0.49 g carbs per 1 link serving, and list "0 carbs" per serving on the label. So count for 3 would be almost 1.5. Eggs also have some carbs, and cheese, and the dressing.... And don't forget whatever you cooked the omelette with.

It's just frustrating to see the scale not budging at all. I've been on Atkins twice, and both times I lost about 9-10lbs in during induction. Of course, both times was after giving birth, so I had more to lose.

Thanks for the tips though. So, during induction, what can I eat for sweets? The atkins bars really help with my dessert cravings. As soon as I'm past induction, I'm making low-car cheesecake. Sounds so tempting right now.

You can use 2-3 servings of artificial sweetners per day. That can be in jello if you like, or use heavy cream (within allowed limit). Eating high fat food instead of something sweet should get you past the sweettooth, however. Then you won't feel like you need sweets so often, and it will help you stay satisfied hungerwise longer.

Did you say you were on induction? The atkins bar, tortilla, and bbq sauce are not legal for induction. Try cutting those out and see if you loose anything.
