Re: 2-day menu, please check for me!!!!

Hi Diva! Sorry to hear you are so frustrated, but there may be some things we can adjust here. I put your first day into Fitday, and this will be a rough estimate, but It came out around 3000 calories, 73% fat, and only 10g carbs (I didn't put the coffee or creamers in either).

First, for a woman of your size, I would imagine you should be eating somewhere around 1800 calories or so. I know you aren't supposed to pay too much attention to calories during induction, but I think this might be a problem here. Knowing your age and height will help determine your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) which is the number of calories needed to stay the same weight. We sometimes see very good results with this way of eating when you eat around your BMR.

Second, it doesn't look like you're getting enough veggies! Remember you can have 3 cups of salad veggies (not just lettuce) or 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of the other veggies. Most of your daily carbs should be from these veggies. So eat em up!

Third, try nixing the sausage or limiting it a bit. They don't need to put 1g carb if it has less than a half...so you could be eating sugar or up to 3g of carbs each time you eat 6 sausage links. Try some other types of meats that may be more nutritious (steak, pork, chicken, fish).

Great job on the exercise! Keep that up and if you make a few changes, you'll see results...I know it!!

Re: 2-day menu, please check for me!!!!

Hi there ~ I'll give this a go but am sure some other may have other input as well. Here are some of the potential issues I see. You can try making some changes to these things and see if things start moving again.

      1) You're at or above your sweetener allowance (3) on these two days - if that is typical, you might consider dropping some or all of the sweetener servings - they can and do cause some people to stall. The diet pepsi is aspertame too, I am guessing, which will cause issues for some people.
      2) Your veggies are on the low side. Were there 3 cups on either day? I think you could stand to eat more veggies!
      3) Even decaf has SOME caffeine - so that too could be a potential culprit
      4) Your meats - just based on the info you give since I can't read your labels - look like they may be high sodium and/or processed choices. Double check for hidden carbs there
      5) Zero-carb dressing - what are the ingredients? And watch serving size - if 1 TBSP is 0 that doesn't mean the 3 TBSP is zero.
      6) Water - a good rule of thumb is 64 oz. PLUS another 8 for each 25 pounds you want to lose - so I would add another bottle of water! And extra doesn't hurt either!
Are you using fitday to track your percentages?

I would take out all the dairy products and sausage, some times they can stall you.

I have to agree with the other -- watch the sweeteners and the salt. The sausage, proscuitto and salami are all probably high in sodium. Also, try cutting your portions down. You might find that smaller amounts do the deed! It's okay to eat more often if you're hungry!

Otherwise, congratulations on doing a great job!

Re: 2-day menu, please check for me!!!!

Ok, thanks guys, so I will up my veggies, eat unprocessed proteins, and smaller portions, but more times a day?Oh yeah, and add an extra bottle of water.Does that sound right?
Someone suggested to get rid of dairy, I hardly had any dairy on either of those days, yeah about 1oz cheese, salad dressing and a couple table spoons of creamer.Salad veggies would be a bit hard to eat without dressing wouldnt it?So many suggest eating dips (low carb of course) to get our veggies in.

Anyway, I will try really hard these week to take everything you guys said and see if we get any results.Maybe if I have the coffee, I will nix the diet soda and vice versa.

            Wish me luck..........

Re: 2-day menu, please check for me!!!!

DIva, that point is to eat when you're hungry, only as much as you feel satisfied, not stuffed. Also, don't mistake appetite for hunger. Drinking more water can take away your appetite as well as the natural effects of ketosis. So drink LOTS of water (I drink about a gallon or more a day) and try to reduce your portions some along with the other advice. Let us know how it goes.
