I am eating under 20 carbs per day,(not to mention am taking suppliments)and drinking well over 140 ounces of water daily, no soda no sweetner i just finished induction for the second time no cheating at all, the first time i ate shakes, sugar free jello with cream and adkins bars and lost 5 lbs i restarted with no cheats and have only lost two pounds, i use the ketostixs at 9:00pm nightly and read dark purple.i also excercise at curves for women 3+ times per week. my usual menu is crustless quich for breakfast(made with heavy cream some cheese,ham) lunch would be a bunless burger and maybe ill have a snack of no carb lunchmeat with bacon and cream cheese rolled together for dinner pork chops broiled and brocaolli casserol (found recipe in genaw.com) that is made with brocoli and cream cheese and bacon and cheddar.i don't understand what the problem is and i'm begining to feel hopeless.this is the first time in my life that i've followed thru with no real results i have the bookathe carb counter all the recomended suppliments and ketostix. iam a female 228 lbs 5'5. also iam 31 years.please help me

Are you eating all your veggies? It seems like you might be alittle light in that area. Also, sounds like you might not be eating enough. Please add some accurate quantities to your meals and it'll help us respond better. Thanks!Higgies

as far as veggies go yesterday i ate chx salad made with green onion and celery and lots of mayo. and at dinner time i had zuchini squach cooked in but sprinkled with parmasan. i get atleast two servings per day

Go for those 3 cups--they add fiber and nutrients not found in other places. Linda's has GREAT veggie recipes. One of my favorite is a cauliflower bake...YUM!
I am in agreement with higgies...perhaps you're not eating enough! If you don't eat enough calories each day, your body goes into starvation mode to conserve fuel. This slows your metabolism, and also makes your body hold on to fat, instead of getting rid of it. It's important to eat at or slightly above your BMR (basal metabolic rate) to prevent this slowing of metabolism. I,am Definatly Eating About 2000 Calories Per Day Is That Enough Or Too Much?does This Diet Not Work For Some People It Has Been Five Weeks And Only 7 Lbs That Is Slow......

If you are still using the shakes and bars and jello I would cut them all out completely. The shakes and bars can cause stalls in a lot of people. And the aspartame in the jello may be reacting with your body. I would also suggest using fitday and entering EVERYTHING. Your % should look close too 65% fat, 5% carb and 30% protein during induction. Also you could post your last couple of days menus..be exact.....with amounts here and then maybe someone would be able to see where a trouble spot for you may be.
