Re: Feedback on Days One and Two Requested.

Dinner. Wife and I went out because we were out running errands. Met up at IHOP.

Three Fried Eggs, Two Sausage Patties and some brocoli. Water.

And I think the wife will be joining us soon.

Re: Feedback on Days One and Two Requested.

I just found out the sausage I had this morning had Corn Syrup Solids and Dextrose in them. Each sausage patty had 1 carb.

What is the overall glycemic impact this has and does this soil my induction once again ?

I'm getting frustrated already. I remember doing what I thought was atkins years ago and losing weight, all the while eating McDonalds scrambled eggs, sausage, etc.. etc..

But see, I'm wondering if those hidden sugars were what sabotaged my efforts and kept the "craving" alive, as it were. I don't intend on making that mistake again, but when these food people sneak this stuff into food, how in the heck.

Okay I'm done ranting. Sorry. I'm just going to have to hard boil mass quantities of eggs and carry them around wherever I go.

          1. What is the overall glycemic impact this has and does this soil my induction once again ? I don't know, but if they are 1 carb per patty, I would say it was negligible if you are eating 1 or 2 patties. Anymore than that, and then the carb count starts getting significant....and see #3

2.I'm getting frustrated already. I remember doing what I thought was atkins years ago and losing weight, all the while eating McDonalds scrambled eggs, sausage, etc.. etc.. Don't get frustrated. This is a learning process.

3.But see, I'm wondering if those hidden sugars were what sabotaged my efforts and kept the "craving" alive, as it were. ABSOLUTELY!!! That stuff adds up. AND like in my signature, we are the cumulative of all the "small" things. Yeah, 1 carb per patty might not be much, but when you add that to other stuff having a carb here and a carb there of corn syrup solids, pretty soon you're GOING to have issues. If you were a cocaine addict and had a little bit here and a little bit there, wouldn't you think that would perpetuate the habit, or at the very least be a form of SELF TORTURE?

          4. I don't intend on making that mistake again, but when these food people sneak this stuff into food, how in the heck.

Okay I'm done ranting. Sorry. I'm just going to have to hard boil mass quantities of eggs and carry them around wherever I go.

Nah, just figure out what foods you can eat and then be prepared. That's the key here. This first week is tough, I remember! HOWEVER, this weekend coming up, go buy a bunch of fresh meat eggs and veggies and prepare them in a bunch of "to-go" meals. That's what a lot of us do.

McDonalds egg's on the mcmuffins are actually real cracked eggs! Good idea to order one of those minus the muffins and cheese (not real cheese) if you HAVE to do a McD's breakfast.

BUT really it isn’t hard to do a couple fried eggs up and microwave some sausage for breakfast- it takes me a total of 5 minutes to get breakfast ready in the AM- I suspect that is half as long as it would take me to go to the golden arches.

If you have to go to McDonalds for breakfast then that is probably the best way to go. However they are still cooked in their liquid margarine mixture:

              Liquid Margarine:
Liquid soybean oil, water, partially hydrogenated cottonseed and soybean oils, salt, hydrogenated cottonseed oil, soy lecithin, mono- and diglycerides, sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate (preservative), artificial flavor, citric acid, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene (color). CONTAINS: SOY LECITHIN
