  • Am I getting this at least 1/2 right to start?

Very new to this - and have to still pick up the book, but wanted to get a jump on my weight loss - and have been reviewing all the posts as much as possible to help me. Let me know what I can't have and what I'm missing. I know i need another serving of veggies for sure. Will start next week with a nice veggie stuffed quiche of some sort.

    Yesterday:

    Breakfast:

    Sausage/Egg & Cheese

    2 slices bacon
Coffee (with non-dairy creamer - dry powder)?

    Lunch:

    small steak

    small caesar salad (no croutons)

    snack: 2 small meatballs

    dinner: steak

    snack:

celery (1/2) & cucumbers (2 stalks) with ranch dip

    pepperoni & cheese (1 oz.)

    Water throughout the day

    Hi Ontheroadagain

I would say to double check that your sausage, bacon and pepperoni are all ok. They may have sugar and sausages can sometimes have extra carbs in the form of breadcrumbs used in them, so look out for that.

For caesar salad dresing, again check for sugar, just incase.

I think cream in your coffee is probably better than creamer. Dairy wise, you could probably eat more cheese it seems, but no more than 4oz at first. Don't forget cream generally, or your allowance of avacado and olives to boost fat intake and make it more interesting.

Veggie-wise, your veg is all quite light and water based. So add a cup of broccoli or zucchini with that dinner steak for nutrients and fibre.

I see you 've gone for quite a lot of meat. I personally wouldn't feel great if I had bacon, meatballs and 2 steaks in one day - it can lead to constipation. I'd recommend subbing in some fish or lighter meats like chicken or turkey. The thing it took me a while to think about was that fat is more important on this plan than protein. I think you should be aiming for only 30% protein. It is worth checking your percentages on fitday and look at other people's fitdays (on induction) to see what they are having.

The book really is useful, once you've got it, you'll practically be sleeping with it under your pillow

Hope that helps and good luck
