  • I think I eat like a pig

I cant help but feel like a out of control pig when I read some of these posts and you guys and gals are eating 1 or 2 eggs...2 slices bacon...one kabob...
Im thinking "holy crap" I eat like a pig. I cant get through the day on amounts like that. An omelette for me has 5 eggs. I eat 3 pork chops with salad and dessert for supper. I have always had a big appetite, am I the only one who eats like this? I think this is the only reason I havent fallen off the wagon for the last 2 months...because I am filling up and not going hungry. i have lost 16 lbs, so i must be doing it somewhat ok.

Wow, you are doing fantastically!! I am sitting here starving today, as I have been eating too much protein lately according to FitDay, and I'm trying to find out some foods which have more fat - from what I've been eating, the ones that have more fat than protein are cream, Italian dressing, butter and pork polish sausage.

If you've lost so much weight from eating so much food, I had better start eating a lot more!! But lately, I have been reaching 1400 - 1600 calories, which has been recommended by some members here. Anyway, I may start eating even more, and stuff whether its protein or fat!

I'm glad I read your message - where's the fridge!!!

You're losing weight, which is great, so you must be doing something right! Many congratulations!

The key is to learn to eat to satisfy your hunger only... not beyond that. If you manage to recognise that and stick to following the plan as it should be followed, you'll be fine.

I too have always had a big appetite, but with time and weight loss, I found that I'm better (still room for improvement though) at "feeling my hunger/satiety level". I still exercise some conscious control over my eating, but it's definitely getting easier and easier. I'm sure it will for you too.

      Happy continued losing!

Re: I think I eat like a pig

As long as you are eating enough to satisfy your hunger at each meal/snack and only eating when hungry and not by habit/boredom/stress etc then eat!!

A 200 pound person wont need to eat as much as a 300 pound person does, so as you get smaller you will probably find you will reduce your portions if you respond to your hunger/satisfied signals.

Looking back at my own menus when I started out at 280 plus pounds I ate much more at each meal then I do now. My appetite has decreased along with my body!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

whew! Was beginning to worry there. I do think I will reduce the amounts, but when you are walkin the edge between sticking with it or falling off the wagon, I would rather go slow and steady, even if it means a slower weight loss. My hubby fell off after 1 month and thinks he can still do the low carb thing and eat hashbrowns with his bacon and eggs....he has convinced himself he is still on track....Oh well, cant do the diet for both of us...Ill worry about myself. Thanks again
