  • can i NOT eat vegies?

    Hey,
    its been 1 week ive been in the INDUCTION phase and so far ive lost 6 pounds which im EXTREMLEY happy ABOUT

    Butttt , i dont really like vegetables So im wondering, if i take my multivitamins daily, do i really need to eat 3 cups of vegies per day??? Like i dont mind saladas, but its not something i'd eat every day.... Most of the days i have eggs w/ either bacon,ham, sausages and like steaks & stuff...BUT NO VEGIES..............

    Will my dislike for vegies slow down or stop my weight loss

    You need to eat them to fill you and for ruffage as I like to call it. It keeps you pretty regular too.

      Hi Honey17, Congratulations on the 6 pounds! That's fantastic! Yep, we need them. Do you like any of them just a little? I was like that, but now I've moved to just being a picky veggie eater and actually love some. How about stir fry? If you like it, there are recipes here if you put ''stir fry'' into search. I have an Atkins stir fry recipe I can give you--so good and spicy if you want to make it that way. I learned to like them by changing them up a bit with Atkin's and low carb sauce recipes to make chinese food, Mexican food, and have even grilled them. How about satue' (sp?) mushrooms and water chestnuts, crisp fresh green beans, a little green bell pepper. That works good in the microwave with melted butter for times when I'm in a hurry. Oh, and soups. I love putting vegetables with meat and chicken broth in my crock pot and letting it slow cook all day. I never used to like spinach, but I won't make a soup without it now. You can stow vegetables away in a cheese ommlette by dicing up into small bits. Let me know if you need any help with ideas or recipes for some choices you could live with, if they are "covered up" .

        I never thought of cooking them in stuff lol
        Ill definetley try that!

        So do u think i might have lost weight faster had i been eating more vegies? Or do i need them from a health persepctive?

          Awesome job on the weight loss so far. One thing, 3 cups of veggies...non negotiable. They are the fiber that you absolutely must have along with the added vitamins and minerals...so.....

            You can put spinach in an omelette with a little cheese, if that makes it easier for you to get some veggies in. Also, you can do stir frys. You don't need to force yourself to eat veggies you don't like. Do you like cucumbers? You could slice those up and dip them in ranch dressing. There are tons of veggies to choose from.

              Make sure to look at recipes for these great veggies: pumpkin, cauliflower, spaghetti squash. You'd be surprised at all the great things you can make with these often overlooked veggies!

                Yeah, you caqn do lots. How about sauteeing some mushrooms and onions to put on steak? A great way of disguising them would be to make something like this:



                You really do need to eat the veggies. As pointed out before, the fiber will help keep you regular and give you the nutrients you need.
