If I remember FitDay's carbs are not placed within context of the Atkins diet. Meaning, there is no subtraction of carbs in the form of fiber AND if you try to put in less carbs without adjusting the calories for that food item, you get an error.
For instance. 1 carb = 4 calories, 1 protein = 4 calories and 1 fat = 9 calories (units in grams)
A food item that we define as being 2 carbs, 1 protein and 1 fat ... will be have to equal .... (2*4) + (1*4) + (1*9) = 21 calories.
FitDay, will error out if you say this item is 21 calories and then try to enter 1, for the carb units. It validates and enforces the formula for calories.
The alternative would be to adjust the calories accordingly ... OR .... note the fiber carbs and do the math yourself per food item.
You can just make Fitday show you how many g of carbs you're eating, and separately, how many g of fiber... subtract fiber from carbs...
I think most of the online sites use the same type of thing for calories vs. gs of stuff to make sure things are entered correctly, but they always list fiber separately so it's not hard to subtract.
Is this per cookie or is it for the entire recipe?
If it's per cookie, then post the ingredients you are using. REmember for induction, you are limited to 1 tablespoon of flax unless you are trying to relieve constipation, then you can have more until your symptoms are relieved.
Thanks!! So it's ok to subtract the fiber grams? I don't do it on anything else, but I sure enjoy my cookie and a cup of decaf tea!! I had NO PROBLEM mixing one up this morning and passing on the Dunkin Donuts that were in the lunchroom.
