  • Please review my Induction memu

    Howdy, I started induction last Monday. I lost 30 lbs on atkins 4 or 5 years ago and got down to 218 but let myself go and hit 261 last week. The weight gain was attributed to too much beer, flour and sugar, way too much... I'm 6'1, 37, my goal is to get to 220, then 200. I work mostly behind a desk but travel often. I stay busy around the house with yard work and projects, play golf and other activities, so I consider myself semi-active.

    I would appreciate comments and suggestions on my menu since Monday. I think I am doing right, but am not 100% on the carb values I used on some items. The values were either off of the package or from atkins carb chart. I have no flu, cravings are not bad at all (but I am going to make a low carb cheescake soon) and am taking a 100% multi vitamin daily. Overall I feel better and already have more energy. edit - I should mention since day 2 I have been in small to moderate ketosys and am drinking 60+ oz of water per day.

    Hey there! Good job on keeping your menu and tracking your foods. I think your food choices are pretty good. I'd probably just give you a few things that strike me.

    - Try to eat ever 6 hours. Skipping meals can cause some issues. I know it's tough.
    - Watch out for that SF Jello. Many people have issues with the aspartame and also induction is the time to try to break those cravings for sweets.
    - Make sure you get in your veggies (2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of others OR 3 cups of salad veggies)

    Are you exercising at all? Try to get some sort of exercise in, even if it's just walking or doing some stairs. That's really important. I have a very similar job profile. I work from home though and travel as well so I get a little more freedom than most, but I understand how the traveling can be rough on our WOE.
