  • Couple of Questions

First of all, thanks for the warm welcome to this board...I'm new!

Secondly, FitDay is GREAT. I just joined and I never realized such a thing existed.

This is my second go round at Atkins so basically, I know it works for me. I do have a couple of questions that I know ya'll can help me with.

First is, are the Russel Stover No Sugar Added mint patties and the like "legal". They say on the front "Splenda" but also are sweetened with maltitol. I am a huge sweet-o-holic and a bit of this product seems to save me from cheating. So, just wondering if this is really okay?

Secondly, flavored water. I am from Canada and buy Nestle Pure Life Lemon Splash which is again sweeted with Splenda and on the back lists zero carbs. I know you have to count some cards for the Splenda though.

I'm not much of a water drinker so I find this easier to drink. It is sweet which satisfies me in that way plus it is water. So, can this be counted towards how much water I should drink a day?

I'm sure I will have many more questions or will just love to interact with everyone here.

This is a great group and I'm so happy I found it. This is definately going to make my weight loss goals much easier to attain.

    Stay sweet everyone!

The sugar free candy has splenda.. and you can only have 3 helpings of the splenda.. One word of advice..Don't over do it on the candy or you will be in the bathroom..

I am not sure but I think only pure water can be counted..again that would take you over your limit of artifical sweeteners..

Try really hard to get them out of your system you will be glad that you did

      Re: Couple of Questions

When I started induction, I bought some of the flavored water that was sweetened with splenda because I did not think I could drink all that plain water. As it turned out, I drank the plain water better. The flavored water became way too sweet for me. I can't really drink it now. I found that I like warmer (more like room temp) water, too, better than really cold water. Experiment with temperature - it might help.

I would recommend against the SF chocolate. Not only does it have sugar alcohols which can cause a lot of people to stall, but the whole point of induction is to break that addiction to sweets that you admit you have. If I were you, and this is just my suggestion, I'd hold them off until you feel you could have a small amount wihtout it triggering a craving.

I don't see a big problem with the water, but I would limit it to the 3 servings of sweetener per day and don't count it as your water. I'd consider it like a diet soda.

Best of luck and welcome to the board!!
