  • Help Creating a Menu?

    Hi all

I was wondering if I could please have some help coming up with a menu, at least an induction menu? I've written down all the foods I like off the accepted foods list and have been trying to come up with meals/snacks, but the meals sound pretty boring to me. I'm going to search out some recipes for induction but I need to find some that fit the foods that I actually like.

Here are my 'liked' foods: tuna, chicken, turkey, clams, shrimp, beef, eggs, cheddar & mozzarella & cream cheese, tofu, celery, cucumber, lettuce, mushrooms, romaine, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus. I like mayo and caesar & ranch dressings.

I had questions about bacon, ham, and hot dogs-- I know the book says you are allowed bacon and ham with no added sugar and without nitrates, but what about hotdogs?

Here are some ideas I have come up with (not very exciting):
    Turkey and cheddar cheese omelette
Caesar salad - romaine, mozzarella, Caesar dressing
    Chicken and mushrooms
    Tuna with mayo and celery
    Beef and broccoli/cauli/asparagus
    Tofu and broccoli

Snacks: Deviled egg, celery and ranch dressing

    Any comments/suggestions/recipes? Thanks SO much!!

Try grilled steak with steamed or grilled asparagus on the side. Or for a quick snack I like to take deli turkey, slice of cheese and either mayo or a little cream cheese and roll into a lettuce leaf. Some of the quiche recipes are good for induction, like cheeseburger pie or coney island pie. There are some great recipes at: genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html

Here's a link to an awesome recipe site: (the recipes with an asterisk are induction friendly)

      Linda’s low carb recipes:

Thanks for the links! I was looking over the 'induction' recipes on that site, and there were some that included spaghetti sauce. That isn't allowed on induction, is it?

If it's spaghetti sauce from Linda's own recipe, and if that has an asterisk, then you're ok.
Can't advise on commercial brands though as over here in Italy almost everyone makes their own sauce from scratch. I'd check the ingredients list of anything you use to see if it's induction legal or not.

Hm, that's what I was thinking, that it was a home-prepared spaghetti sauce, but I can't seem to find the recipe on her site. Guess I'll search around for a recipe, but if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great! Thanks
