  • If my Fitday looks like this so far...

    ...is this about where I'm supposed to be, fat/carb/protein wise?

    Fat 51g (66%)
    Carbs 31g (8%)
    Fiber 16g
    Protein 46g (26%)

    I'm supposed to subtract the fiber from the carbs, putting me at 15 net carbs so far, right? I still have dinner to go...I'm thinking a chicken breast & veggies.

    I have read DANDR, but am still a bit confused.

    I'm still in Induction (just starting week 4) because I seem to be metabolism challenged, having lost barely 3lbs so far. I also have thyroid cancer, hence no thyroid, so even with meds I will always have to work a bit harder than I used to.

    How did you get your carb count up to where it is? what have you eaten so far veggie wise?

    You need to get some more fat in - cook your chicken and veggies in butter maybe?

    Induction doesnt mean you'll lose quicker, you may need the extra veggies so maybe you should go up to rung one on the OWL ladder - see if that boosts your weight loss?

      Thanks. I'm not looking to lose quickly (although that would be an added benefit!) but steadily.

      I think my carb count is high today because I had the Muffin in a Minute for breakfast. As for veggies, I've had avocado, cucumber, lettuce and red pepper. I also had feta cheese on my salad for 2 carbs.

        You're not necessarily high and i cant see that youre doing anything wrong, just try and get your fat percentage up in this evenings meal, play around with fitday first and see what you need to do to get your percentages correct.

          I thought the percentages were supposed to be as follows:

          Fat 65%
          Carb 5%
          Protein 30%

          In this case, I'm over on carbs and short on protein...but ok on fat. Why would I want to bring up my fat with dinner?

            sorry doh! i was reading the grams - i should be in bed, its late

            still play first, you'll find when you add a protein all your other percentages change!

            I do my fitday at the start of every day so i know im on track!
