  • First Day Menu Please Help?

    Hi there Im wondering if Im going about this the right way.. so here goes what Im going to have for my first day.. Breakfast is the only meal that Ive had so far so there is still time to change something

    B: Mock Danish
    L: Chicken Drumstick seasoned with onion and garlic powder, adobo, sazon and pepper cut up, with One Cup romaine lettuce 1/4 Cup of Cucumber and 1/4 Cup of tomato 1 oz of Sharp Cheddar cheese dressing is 2TBLS of Kraft ranch dressing 2g carbs (stated on back of dressing)
    S: 2 hard boiled eggs with 2 oz cheddar cheese
    D: Chicken leg (drumstick and thigh attached) seasoned same as above with 1 Cup Iceberg lettuce 1 ounce Cheddar cheese 2Tbls of kraft Ranch dressing 1/4 Cup Cucumber 1/4 Cup tomato

    Oh and of course water water and more water!

    Is that too many carbs in one day? Please take a look and let me know? Im a little bit worried that my seasonings may be sneaking in some carbs Im not aware of

    Sorry I only just noticed your post!!

    Your menu choices seem fine to me, with a good variety of veggies spread across the day

    The easiest way to see if your seasonings up your carbs too much is to set up a free 'account' at www.fitday.com and log all your foods including seasonings. It does take a while to work out how to log everything but is worth the bother IMO.

    when you have set up your account it is possible to make it 'public' so you can post a link to it and invite others to check your daily menus for more advice.

    To do this click on the 'home' tab and scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on the 'make my journal public' button to get a url you can copy and paste here. some people add it to their signatures to save work.

    F/60 yrs/5ft 5.5" (Though due to collapsing vertebrae I am now only 5'3" - but I refuse to recalculate my BMI )
