  • OWL first rung..comments please

    Could you please take a look at my planned menus for the next two days? I have been averaging around 16-17 net carbs during induction. Today is my 6th day on OWL 1.. I may or may not continue on this rung for another week depending on what my scale and measuring tape say after end of this week.

    Please tell me if this is alright or do I have to tweak something somewhere?

    Any comment would be hugely appreciated.

    Oh, and I have only another 11 lbs or so to lose.

    Menu 1.

    Breakfast:

    Eggs, boiled, chopped- 2 medium

    Cheese, grated-1/2 cup

    Cucumber-1/2 cup

    Lunch:

    Eggplant: 1 cup

    Lamb mince (measured raw)-1 cup

    Onion-1/4 cup

    Tomato-1/4 cup

    Mayo- 1 tbsp

    Olive Oil-2 tbsp

    Dinner:

    Chicken, boneless, cooked-1 cup

    Cabbage, Shredded-1 cup

    Pumpkin-1/2 cup

    Mayo-1 tbsp



    Menu 2.

    Breakfast:

    2 eggs omelet made with

    Tomato-1/4 cup

    Shallots-1/4 cup

    Sweet pepper-1/4 cup

    Cheese, grated-1/2 cup

    Butter-1 tbsp

    Lunch:

    Fish, crisp fried- approx. 8 oz

    Spinach, cooked-1 cup

    Cauliflower-1 cup

    Mayo-1 tbsp

    Dinner:

    Shrimps-1 cup

    Okra-1/2 cup

    Cabbage-1 cup

    Cilantro- 1 tbsp

    Mayo-1 tbsp

    I think that it looks okay. Crisp fried fish? I am sure you know what you are doing there...

    Other than that, I think it looks good. Great idea to plan it all out in advance.

    1st goal: 139 (earlier weight)
    what the rungs mean to me:
    rung 1 - more veggies
    rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
    rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
    rung 4 - berries, melon
    rung 5 - wine -
    rung 6 - beans, hummus
    rung 7 - other fruits
    rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
    rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
    Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
    (on to pre-maintenance)

      What are the OWL Rung 1 veggies you added? With the exception of the cucumbers and sweet peppers, all the other veggies are from the "other vegetable list" of the Induction foods list.

        I did not have spinach or cauliflower during Induction. So these were added when I started OWL. Did I do anything wrong?

          Then what are the 3 cups of Induction vegetables and what are the 5 net carb vegetables in your menu?
